I have Optimum Online ... it sucks. It always sucks.
Sometimes it takes me 7 tries just to log on to CC!

I legitimately had a few dreams last night that I would wake up and the power would be on. It's sad to realize how much I depend on electricity and internet.

Is this fact, or fiction?

Fact. It's sort of annoying especially when a lot of people (like 600k) still don't have power.

What's the logic behind it? Does the marathon bring that much money into the city?

This year alone we were close to being hit by a Cat 2 Hurricane.
I guess the problem was that you guys are not used to it and were not prepared?
Simplistic I know, also in the place where the storms hits there are no wooden houses and not so much infrastructure lost. Over the years we've lot power after these storms, the worse that I remember was a week. Once we lost everything in a business that was in front of the beach (bay beach), only my father stayed in town and according to my mother the lazy asshole didn't get anything out of the place. Another time we were hit as hard but that time we were all night getting stuff out of the business, we lost less. SO eventually we closed that business and focused in another that it's on a high point lol.
I remember one with as many deaths or more I think, but that hit like 300 kms to the north of here.

I honestly don't know how I feel about the whole thing. On the one hand, the marathon brings in money to the city which it will need. On the other hand, the marathon goes through Staten Island which is a disaster.

I feel similarly.
If private companies want to use money on power generators so be it, but I'd rather not hear about the government spend money on generators for a marathon while I still don't have power.
I just want to watch the Bronco game (which will be on national tv again...seriously, never before have this many Bronco games been on national tv. I love Peyton) on Sunday.
