I've separated myself from the news for more than 25 years. I'm sometimes very surprised when I check the almanac and find out that U Thant isn't Secretary-General of the U.N. any more, or the Central African Empire has changed its name back to the Central African Republic for the 37th time.

You don't need to care about "the issues" to enjoy debating them. It's what men have been doing at the watering hole for 2 million years, and with any luck we'll be doing it another 2 million.
