No, BBS trap thread.

This unprecedented transfer of wealth, from richer to poorer nations, will only escalate because the free-market/free-trade/free-enterprise model does not work as well as controlled and planned economic models such as China’s.

Haha, the author doesn't know what those words mean. It's a huge problem for humans in general--being unable to differentiate between free enterprise and crony capitalism.

I don't see why it's wrong to criticize free enterprise as leading unavoidably to crony capitalism if you can criticize communism for leading unavoidably to totalitarian states.

Was the author making that point? or is this a position that you are taking?

Does she need to have explicitly stated it for the implication to be obvious? If she said that "the communist model does not work as well as the free enterprise model" would you have bothered to question what her meaning was?

No, the USA uses the British system that was in use before Imperial.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_the_imperial_and_US_customary_measurement_systems
Having this shared heritage, the two systems are quite similar, but there are differences. The US customary system is based on English systems of the 18th century, while the Imperial system was defined in 1824, after American independence.

Imperial fluid ounce ≈ 0.96075994040 fl oz U.S.
US liquid quart ≈ 33.3069673852 Imp fl oz ≈ 0.83267418463 Imp qt
US liquid gallon ≈ 0.83267418463 Imp gal

The imperial system uses a hundredweight of eight stone or 112 lb (50.80234544 kg), whereas a US hundredweight is 100 lb (45.359237 kg). In both systems, 20 hundredweights make a ton. In the US, the terms long ton (2240 lb, 1016.0469088 kg) and short ton (2000 lb; 907.18474 kg) are used to distinguish them. The term metric ton is also used to denote a tonne (1000 kg, 2204.622 lb), which is about 2% less than the long ton.

.. and so on.

Duka, for all intents and purposes, the USA uses the Imperial system. The U.S. Imperial System, silly.

My point still stands. Canada uses bastardization of the two, and thus, is an incompatible marriage partner.

Not really. Officially Canada uses si the problem being old people can't figure out how tall they are in meters and keep saying 5'2" so their peers can visualize them in a more realistic light.

The best is flying. You will use five different systems depending on what you're calculating. It's spectacular.
