Does she need to have explicitly stated it for the implication to be obvious? If she said that "the communist model does not work as well as the free enterprise model" would you have bothered to question what her meaning was?

USA and Canada achieving marriage is incompatible. Canada uses the metric system (mostly, those dirty scoundrels) and the USA uses the imperial system. This is an irreconcilable difference.

Not really. Officially Canada uses si the problem being old people can't figure out how tall they are in meters and keep saying 5'2" so their peers can visualize them in a more realistic light.
