My personal 'wouldn't cross the street to pee on them if they were on fire' list:
Incubus
any band that classifies itself as emo
Fleetwood Mac

There's more, I'm sure...

I agree with most of that, but there are bands that classify themselves as emo that really rock, I mean headbanging rock sometimes, like Emery or My Chemical Romance, only the words are emo. The first time I heard Emery (which was really the first emo band I ever listened to) I realized how much ppl make fun of emo bands and how exaggerated it gets...dude, before you trash those 2 bands, just hear their guitarists, all four of them (yes, four, 2 in each band) are as good or better than metal guitarists. And both bands scream too.

And limp bizkit, yes right now they really suck, but the first album was tolerable for me...and before you say that they are all screamo and vulgar go listen to "Everything".

okay another thing guys you have to draw a line between what genres you personally don't like and what really sucks. IMO if you think an entire genre should die, then obviously you simply don't like that genre and if you don't like a genre how are you supposed to criticize an artist of that genre?

oh and hitman, hurt and heal...that's pretty old you know...

basically, a list of 10 bands and they all start out with 10 points. people can choose to either hurt (take away) or heal (give) 2 points each post. When a band is taken out or reaches 20 points or somethign (from their actions), a person can add another band. the bands that reach 0 go in the hall of shame, 20 in walk of fame. btw, each post a person makes, he/she must choose one band to hurt and another to heal.

The Beatles. Over hyped overrated drivel. Just the boy band of their day. Not a patch on their contemporaries the Stones, the Kinks or the Who.
I think the Clash said it best with "Phoney Beatlemania has bitten the dust"

I'm not a huge rap fan, but you're on crack.

unriggable wrote:One band I'm pissed off that got back together is Rage against the machine (I like them, I just like audioslave more, so it doesnt work out for me).

That I'll sorta agree with. Audioslave is pretty crappy, but Rage had kinda run its course. There's no reason, other than money, for them to get back together again. And if they're reuniting for money, then that sort of defeats the purpose of their music.

Hell, 90% of all music ever made is crap.

I don't necessarily agree with that statement.

I'm sure that rock music covers at least 10% of all music. Sure, not all of it's great, but a lot of it is good to some degree unless it was made since 1995. Then there's a good possibility of it sucking.

Also, I'm sure that the 90's and beyond doesn't hold 90% of the music.

I'm basically quoting Sturgeon's Law, which holds that 90% of any sort of popular culture is going to be bad. But I think it holds, since even the bands you like have SOME crappy songs, and the bands you sorta like have a lot of crappy songs, and the bands you hate have 100% crappy songs....[/b]

I dunno, instruments are cheap now, recording is cheap now, so everybody who can get their hands on 300 dollars is willing to make an album.

Me too, generally. But sometimes there are songs that just aren't like the rest, that you can dislike (I love the hives for everything but "Find Another Girl" - if you can't sing, don't sing, we still love ya for it!)
