It's hardly snobbery to laugh at people who treat junk food like it's some kind of gourmet treat. I eat poutine, sure, but I don't pretend it's something in the same family as pate a la campagne, lol.

I eat poutine because it's marginally better than eating the fries plain, and it's under $4. Since I'm too busy to cook, most of my meals are at fast-food joints, and there's only so many variations on burgers-and-fries that you can come up with, and more importantly there's only 3 drive-throughs between my house and my work, so the already-limited selection is even more limited by the fact that most days I won't go out of my way. So I eat poutine pretty regularly with my burgers, and I'm fine with that, but I wouldn't call it "good." It's okay, it's fast, and it's cheap, like most of the other stuff in its class.

Be real; if people cross the atlantic it s not to try a special kebab or a way to eat your fries. Canada has a lot of more interesting things to offer, and the food isn t really the first tourists would think of. Call it being snob if you want. Telling you "oooh a kebab with a homemade sauce, i really feel like going there!" Would sound like an anwser? Would sound ver hypocritical to me.
There are literally thousands of kebab joints in Paris with a large variety of qualities and specialties. I eat kebabs quite rarely, even if i did it like crazy when i was a student.
Let s say i ve already eaten a donair with you guys there. You guys talking about it like that would bring memories and even if it s not incredible, i might remember it as such and i could salivate with the idea of a donair.
