Urgh I wish you would turn 30 already mrs. This late 20's arrogant modern idealism is draining.

What I meant to say is that clean technology is a scarce (slightly more accurate than finite) resource, and that scarcity makes the cost of high penetration of clean energy increasingly prohibitive, especially with the counterfactual business case's of "dirty" technology.

We might be able to provide enough energy for everyone. We are exceptionally unlikely to be able to deliver it cleanly and sustainably.
I go to the gym to justify my mockery of fat people.

Idealism? I'm not nietzsche.

The only point I really wanted to contest was when you said that having more people in a country makes it more difficult to supply their energy via green means. Assuming a big and small country with a similar population density and per capita wealth, I don't see the bigger country would have a tougher time leveraging resources such as the sun or wind to supply their power.
