American Football: College Level

Well, the MWC is down, BSU dearly misses Moore, SDSU's "defensive maverick" Chuck Long couldn't stop SJSU (though they are on the upswing), UNM is making progress, UNLV somehow beat AFA, UNR ran over Hawaii (literally, one guy had 7 total TDs), CSU is still really bad, and Wyoming has a hell of a QB, good recievers, piss-poor o-line, unknown RBs, and a defense that slightly slows down offenses.

Oh, and the Big 10 is deifnitly not a "Power Conference," lol.

THE Air Force Academy Fighting Falcons will be DOMINATE and FEERSOME over the course of this season. The extreme luck that pulled the Michigan fat out of the fire just stoked the ire of the mighty flyboys, who will CRUSH ALL OPPOSITION on their way to the NATIONAL...uh...CONFERENCE CHAMPEENSHIP!

Yeah, that may be done with the loss to UNLV.

This MWC is more like the old WAC (early to mid 90s) in that it was all offense and no defense. New Mexico scored 29 points on BSU!

But Wyoming's QB, even with our crappy o-line, and had ti sit out the Cal POly game, has the 12th highest passer rating in the country.

That said, the MWC is wide open this year, uncomfortably so for BSU.

THE BEST DEFENSE IS GRINDING THEIR DEFENSE INTO GEL. Wait...GEL DON'T GRIND SO WELL. Yeah, WE'LL GRIND THEIR DEFENSE INTO SILICONE. Wait...NO, SILICON! Yeah, that's it. WE'LL GRIND THEIR DEFENSE INTO SILICON. EXCEPT THEIR SECONDARY, BECAUSE EVERYONE KNOWS THAT DEFENSIVE BACKS ARE ALREADY LOADED UP ON SILICONE ANYWAY.

Maybe. If you consider shoot-outs good games.

Yeah, the Baylor/WVU game had NO defense. There are freakin' basketball games that don't have that many points!

That was an incredible score...63 points and lose. Unreal.

I strongly suspect that K-State is gonna hand West Virginia their fur hats.

Yeah, when your QB has more TDs than incompletions, either your offense is kicking butt, or defense does not exist in that game.

I kind of want K-State to lose, only because my brat of a cousin is a Freshmen there.

And once again, we snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

On the bright side, BYU got blown out. Almost makes up for this loss. Almost. :(

Sanford got screwed in OT (twice), Texas Tech blew away #5West Virginia,
Oklahoma romps in the shootout... and LSU bumps off #3 Gamecocks.

He thought that AF's quarterback faked an injury to give them more time

Combination of getting screwed out of a few games; Toledo game comes to mind, where refs looked the other way while our QB was hit late time and time again, finally culmination in him being rushed to the hospital after not only being horse collared, but taking a shot to the head at the same time, suffered another concussion against UNR, as well as being penalized for "excessive celebration" (holding up his dead friend's number from high school on his fingers after every TD he makes, and has NEVER been penalized for it prior), and then thrown out of the UNR game for "unsportsmanlike conduct" after the refs picked up a flag on what should have been passing interference on the defense which ended up giving UNR the game, and then AFA's QB getting up after his helmet popped off, started to walk to the sideline (new NCAA rule), and then all of a sudden he was "down" long enough for the backup (a good 4-5 minutes) to get warmed up, and after the backup played, the starting QB was right back on the field. And then Calhoun has that smug ass grin on his face as gets up in DC's face about it.

A combination of frustrating losses, some of which were taken out of the player's and coach's hands, despite being in almost every one of them (Texas being the exception).
