What's the Plan for Thanksgiving?
Posted: Mon Nov 19, 2012 9:13 amWell...Thanksgiving is finally here! Perhaps my favorite Holiday! Family, fun, and FOOD! The smell of roasted turkey wafting through the air, enticing smells activating salivary glands. Time to reminisce about holidays past! Children stealing tidbits of food from the kitchen only to be halfheartedly "scolded" by mothers and grandmothers to go play outside until dinner is ready.
Remember the old Black Olive finger gag? What better way to eat black olives then to stick them on each finger...play around with them like an alien hand, and then pop each one in your mouth like Caligula lounging and eating grapes!
This year, I would love to be able to make the turkey; but, alas, my sisters will be busy doing the honors. However, I will still contribute by bringing the following:
Gourmet Cheese platter with Grapes and Crackers
Mashed Rutabagas with Bacon
Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Balsamic Glaze
Peach Cobbler Bread Pudding
Other than Turkey...what are your special plans to bring to the table this year?
