So a month and a half ago, a random couple were getting their wedding photos taken just outside Ottawa and who should happen to drop by but Prime Minister Stephen Harper! I just though this was pretty cool:

canada.com wrote:Stephen Harper may still have a thing or two to learn from Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson when it comes to crashing weddings, but it would appear he is catching on quickly.

On Oct. 20 in Rockcliffe Park in Ottawa, Harper took roughly five minutes out from his busy schedule to pose with newlywed couple, Patrick Sullivan and Jocelyne Potvin.

“Three black cars all in a row pull into the parking lot, ” writes Laura Kelly in her blog. “And someone jokingly says, ‘I bet you it’s the Prime Minister… or Lady Gaga!’

“We laugh, and move on with our photo taking.”

“But then as the cars were preparing to leave the little parking lot (that couldn’t have held more than 20 cars or so), they stopped. And 20 seconds went by. And wouldn’t you know it, Mr. Stephen Harper himself came over to wish the bride and groom a happy wedding day!”

Harper posed for a number of photos, including one with the entire wedding party, says Kelly in a telephone interview.

According to Kelly, Harper asked the groom if they already had the ceremony by asking: “Have you already done it?”

To which Patrick responded: “First time. It’s out first time.”

According to Harper’s communications team, the park is near his house where the prime minister was enjoying a leisurely stroll.

There's a video of an interview with the photographer at that link also for anyone who's interested.

Says a lot that I wasn't sure who was the prime minister at first.

this was in the paper when it happend. Pretty classy move on the PM's part. Though a no brainer in terms of photo oppage. Now if only he could even remotely as classy in parliament.
