Hey, you. Yeah, you. [TIMMINZ WINS, THREAD CLOSED]

Why do you post here? What drives you to read and/or type your thoughts here?

Is this a place where you become more informed?

Is this a place for shouting at others with your cyber megaphone?

Is this a place for practicing the art of arguing and/or for practicing the art of trolling?

Or do some of you come here to become willingly trolled, you sadomasochistic cunts?

Which is it? Why do you show yourself here?

Why do you post here? What drives you to read and/or type your thoughts here?
It's fun and I have an easier time justifying to myself posting here than playing online flash games.

Is this a place where you become more informed?
Kinda. Any discussion will lead to you becoming more informed even if it is only regarding how a different person views things. And sometimes you even learn something new about the world. (also I pretty much get all my news either from here or reddit, f*ck traditional sources)

Is this a place for shouting at others with your cyber megaphone?
Sometimes. It's a good stress reliever and makes you not care as much when people hurl abuse back, here or in RL.

Is this a place for practicing the art of arguing and/or for practicing the art of trolling?
Yes and yes. I think my writing and debating skills have improved through my discussions here. That's one thing you don't get from the flash games.

Or do some of you come here to become willingly trolled, you sadomasochistic cunts?
Nah, not really, I prefer my sadomasochism involve whips and paddles.

Which is it? Why do you show yourself here?
I think I have a crush on saxi. (hey saxi, you into BDSM ? )

aside from the last one, this pretty much sums it up for me...

[quote="BigBallinStalin"]Why do you post here? What drives you to read and/or type your thoughts here?
1. Probably 60% of the time it is just a form of procrastination. When I have some difficult turns to take in my games, and I'm not quite ready to make the difficult calculations or take a tough decision whether to pull the trigger or not, I'll come to the forums as a way of postponing it.
2. Once in a while (20% ?) something interesting will catch my eye and I feel it deserves a response. Then I'll kick myself, knowing that none of these demagogues will actually change their mind so I've just wasted an hour of typing.
3. Sometimes (10% ?) I see two people who are talking past each other and the mediator within me thinks if he just steps in between and makes them see reason, they will start to share genuine communication and actually exchange ideas and discover the joy of mutual comprehension. Then I'll kick myself even harder after that.
4. Once in a while (10%) it's just a quirky desire for ordinary social interaction or to share a bad joke.

Is this a place where you become more informed?
Honestly, once in a while yes. It doesn't happen often, but once in a while someone will say something that was really unknown to me, so yes.

Is this a place for shouting at others with your cyber megaphone?
I try not to. Enough of that going on already.

Is this a place for practicing the art of arguing and/or for practicing the art of trolling?
Not for me.

Or do some of you come here to become willingly trolled, you sadomasochistic cunts?
I do get trolled, but it's always accidental.

Which is it? Why do you show yourself here?
Redundant question. The first one pretty much covered it.

Occasionally someone posts something interesting that I feel is worth arguing about or reading about. There are often a lot of amusing posts. I love reading Saxi's stuff for instance. I only regret I am not as amusing/interesting.

Also considering my eventual move to America, I feel this forum prepares for the madness that is american conservatism. It's almost like an anthropology exhibit.

I do admit it gets tiresome sometimes so my interest comes and goes.

I'm addicted and there's 8-10 decent people possibly more if I actually counted here to chat with.

More informed? Occasionally, mostly on fluff topics. Gingnam style...

The other questions? Nah.

It may sound pathetic but I actually use this site as something as a gauge of important current events. I avoid all television and newspaper media(barring local) and I'm here already playing my games so it works for me. It's also got the benefit of giving both sides since no one can possibly post something biased on here without the opposing view showing up nearly immediately after.
It's also a great way to vent my frustrations from my day to day interactions with people with conflicting views that I have to keep under wraps in "real life".

P.S.- Good to have ya back, BBS.

Why do you post here? What drives you to read and/or type your thoughts here?
If the key word is "here", I'll answer that I don't know many forums, but the few others that I know of are very serious.

Is this a place where you become more informed?
Sadly, about current events that I wish I didn't know.

Is this a place for shouting at others with your cyber megaphone?
Only if they don't obey.

Is this a place for practicing the art of arguing and/or for practicing the art of trolling?
No, long ago I realized that with words you can both prove and disprove the same thing. You can point holes in the arguments tho.

Or do some of you come here to become willingly trolled, you sadomasochistic cunts?
Yes, but I assume this question is more for scotty and symmetry.

Which is it? Why do you show yourself here?
The different cycber personalities are awesome.

But to be honest, the theme is procrastination.

Why do you post here? What drives you to read and/or type your thoughts here?
I usually like to add humor/commentary on things. Arguably, the same reasons I post here are the same reasons I interact with others socially.

Is this a place where you become more informed?
Yes, but you must tread carefully to filter out the fact and fiction.

Is this a place for shouting at others with your cyber megaphone?
Not for myself. How cordial would that be?

Is this a place for practicing the art of arguing and/or for practicing the art of trolling?
It's certainly helped!

I'm here because of the game, but I've always been interested in politics and economics. When I saw some of the conversations going on here, it was like peanut butter meetin da jelly

totally way more informed, even if only from other points of view

Practicing arguments is probably my favorite thing, and to the purpose of being willingly trolled? Just comes with the territory...in short, haters gon hate.

BBS's mom. Who also happens to be AOG's sister and wife.

Is this a place where you become more informed?
Like asking a conspiracy theorist if he wants to work for the CIA.

Is this a place for shouting at others with your cyber megaphone?
Nope. Just belittle or joke with them.

Is this a place for practicing the art of arguing and/or for practicing the art of trolling?
If you have to ask...

Or do some of you come here to become willingly trolled, you sadomasochistic cunts?
Was about to ask you the samething.

Which is it? Why do you show yourself here?
Foe the hell of it. Usually when there's nothing else to do.

I've thought about answering the questions in the OP.

That's about as far as my motivation around here goes, these days.

I remember long ago when a little place called "FLAME WARS" existed and I could bash on all the n00bs with my huge penis whilst being regarded as the Jesus of Conquer Club.
