Posters you like to read

I'm curious as to what posters are the preferred by the community.

THIS IS THE ULTIMATE POPULARITY CONTEST! lol

There are posters that I like to read even though I don't care about the topic.

I read almost anything from saxi, except perhaps when is in one of those long threads on politics. I also read a lot from BBS although I skip the long posts. I like to follow Haggis as well, he posts little but entertaining, also jonesy for the quck laughs. And when I'm bored I click on AoG's wall to see his lasts post, just to see how many times he has posted the word f*ck recently.

There are others I like to read of course.

Don't get angry if you don't see your name in the poll, there are only so many options you can add.

If you want to add another option to the poll, propose it and in 3 days I would change the less voted option for the most proposed other poster. Yes, popularity contests can be mean.

saxi is the only poster I'll read regardless of subject. Some posters (thegreekdog, BBS, Haggis, Mets) can be interesting as long as it's not a awfully in depth discussion on some stupid shit like politics.

I don't care who you are, if you make me think critically then you're awesome in my book.
Some posters like Phatts make me want to rip the hair out of my head sometimes, but at the same time we'd be best buddies in real life. CC is a dynamic place.

I would have liked to see jay-2-b-rong, or however you spell it. I agree with him about once in a thousand times, but he's sincere, and usually willing to actually talk - at least until he feels the argument is over.

Mr Changsha is a player I have never spoken to, but know by reputation thanks to his posts, and have enjoyed reading. Of the people on the list no one stands out as worthy of specific mention.

I voted for, among others, Woodruff. He's always interesting to read, at the very least.

A post is likeable if it makes me go:
"Hmm, interesting,"
"Ah, your kung fu is strong," or
"lol."

so, without further ado...

For our comrades listed as "Other":

Mr Changsha and Fruitcake make up for their lack of quantity with superb quality.
Neoteny is great whenever he decides to grace us with his fingertips.
Iraq Lobster, barackattack, cornpops, etc. always provide enjoyable examples of trolling. Alhamdul illah!
TG is fun--when properly motivated.
GreecePWNS provided exciting coverage of the politics in Greece.
got_tonkaed and Doc Brown were exemplary posters. RIP.
crispybits is great when I'm in the mood for religion or philosophy.
Lionz, Viceroy, and similar types are unintentionally hilarious.

not even an honourable mention. I thought we was bros :C

Seriously though Love evrything saxi posts. Even when he's disagreeing with me it's a joy to see him at work on his craft. He is a master of witty inteligent posts.

I very much enjoy your posts BBS they are also well thought out and its interesting to see you challenge people and see how they respond.

I am not intelligent enough for strong Kung Fu.
I am not intentionally funny enough for "lol" and probably on occasionally unintentionally "lol."
That leaves "Hmm, interesting"

Dang. I guess I will remain a background poster.

I like your's list Herr Staling.

In your defense I might have omitted BaronVP. Not because I don't enjoy reading his posts but he's one of the members like got_tonkaed who seems like someone you'd like to have beer with. Too real for fun reading but probably a genuine good guy.

I particularly enjoy specific pairings, like certain couples who argue incessantly that are fun. Saxi/Sym for example. The BBS/Neoteny posts regarding state coercion are great.

I read almost everything, so I'm glad this is a "like to read" question and not a "what do you read" question.

I enjoy the following folks, in no particular order:

- Saxitoxin because he is just the best at what he does
- pimpdave when he's funny. The TPDS Stalingrad thread is particulary brilliant
- Haggis and jones are both witty and intelligent
- JB, Sym, Mets mostly to argue with them
- And finally, AoG

I also wish the following people would post more (or come back): gottonkaed, Doc_Brown, sultanofsurreal, neoteny, snorri, tailgunner, BvP

EDIT - I also, obviously, enjoy BBS's posts, but there is only so much nodding-in-agreement I can do before my head falls off.

There are few people who I really like reading even if they're not being at all serious. Mostly saxi and various dearly departed members. (btw. we totally should have campaigned for amnesty on the permabans when the website was sold)

Other than that I like people who enjoy a good discussion without viewing it as a fight to the death and generally don't take shit personally but that also have different enough views from mine so that we aren't just 2 guys moaning about all the other idiots who disagree with our wisdom. From the ones on the list saxi, BBS and tgd are prolly the top 3.

I'll also echo greek's list of posters I wished posted (more) and I'll add, off the top of my head, spurgistan, Ink, natty, greece, radiojake and Dito(anyone not in GH remember him? don't think he posted much in OT).

Btw, just remembered, didn't one of the newish guys mention he was a pantheist (was it you, crispy?). I made a mental note to make a topic about that when I have more time.

I agree with those posters that should post more as well (with the exception of Ditto since I do not know him).

I wanted to put "that Canadian guy from Georgia," but then I thought that would be rude, so while looking for your name--because it slipped my memory--I got distracted, made a few edits, looked at something else--I recall seeing an odd-looking bald guy who quickly looked away as we briefly made eye contact, clicked Submit, and now I'm offering a lengthy apology. Sorry :D

Also, spurgistan, but he hardly reciprocates. Makes me feel lonely.
Timminz and Frigidus, but they're hardly around. Same with Ink.
