I'm looking into buying a tablet and can't decide whether to buy the iPad or the iPad mini. Is there a big performance difference between the two? is the difference in screen resolution big or small? Thanks!

iPad Mini v iPad 2 or iPad4?
Big difference between 2 and 4. I think they have a comparison chart on their site.

I've heard of Maxi Pads but I didn't know about Mini Pads.

I swear the Mini Pads are just as absorbent.

The mini seems like a more practical size for carrying around and using on the bus etc.
I have the ipad 2 and it's a great size for around the house but when you go places with it, it's just a bit to big for holding when you're not using it and slipping in a jacket pocket. It does go well in a back pack or saddle bag of a motorcycle. Carefull you don't jam it against a bolt or you'll gouge the aluminum case.
I love it for posting in forums other than autum phil. I don't like taking turns on it. The touch screen is just aching to help you miss click. The maps would be micro and probably nearly impossible to read on the mini.

Get an iPhone and ask ManBungalow's momma to sit on it, and you'll have an iPad.

I'd recommend going into an Apple store and see how they feel. You won't see much of a performance different between the two but as the others have said... it's really what you going to use it for (public transit etc).
I personally would never buy a mini because i use it mostly at home and at work and screen size, to me, means everything.

I primary need one for when I'm out at school, or use to read. I have a computer and I don't think I'll need a big screen. I'm not planning on watching movies or anything like that one it.

Whats holding me back from buying the mini is the fact that it doesn't have retina display and I"m planning to use if for school ebooks

retina display isn't much of a step up, the normal screen is pretty crisp.

Movies/videos are not too bad on an iPad mini oddly enough. Obviously they're better on a big screen but if you're out and about it's actually ok.

I've been meaning to make it to this thread as a recent iPad mini owner maybe I can shed some light on the subject. I prefer the mini as it fits in my hands easier and is overall a lot more sleek than the bulkier iPad. The specs are the same. I really wanted a shitty laptop and got this instead but I'm just going to keep it because its too nice to return
