True Story -
I live so far from anything relevant that there wasn't a TV channel here that carried the Superbowl's broadcast.

All it needed was a stripper pole.

It was bad. At least I knew the songs by the Black Eyed Peas and Madonna. I literally didn't know any songs by their name by Beyonce.

It's enraging that they'll never pick an artist/band that ACTUAL football fans will like. They want to haul in the female, 20-40 demographic and you do that by bringing in shitty pop acts. Just give us Metallica or some shit, seriously.

Oh well, the game was pretty quality. First time I've actually stayed up and watched one properly, and not just down the pub. Those quarterbacks were insanely impressive and the fight back for the 49ers was exhilarating to watch. I thought they were down and out at the time of the power cut but with the ridiculous comeback, they suddenly looked like they were going to win.

If you thought Madonna's halftime performance last year was better than Beyonce's this year, you're either 1) deaf, 2) blind, 3) a senile Madonna fan, or 4) racist.

Beyonce didn't sing her best songs, but she was a very energetic performer, and I think that's better than all those old heads they were getting for years (eg Springsteen, The Who).

Destiny's Child reunion was also great. Independent Women and Bootylicious? Such a great throwback.

And that's not even mentioning that whole "finger lick and drag it down my chest" move that Beyonce did.

I'm thoroughly confused how anyone who believes himself to be a heterosexual male could not like the halftime show. Here is how I envision the conversation:

Jim and Bob are watching the Super Bowl halftime show.

Jim: You know Bob, this halftime show sucks.
Bob: Seriously Jim. Who gives a shit about pop music or R&B?
Jim: And didn't she just lip sync at the inaugaration?
Bob: And lip synching is a real issue that should be addressed because it affects whether Obama will be a great president, but this is just crappy music.
Jim: Yeah, who wants to watch a beautiful, voluptuous woman dance and gyrate in front of other beautiful women? I want to watch a hunk like Tom Petty or Bruce Springsteen run around on stage in tight pants.

Is it me or are movie previews getting ridiculously fast moving? Like Iron Man 3. Who the hell knows what's going on?
