What's going on in Bolivia? We need a man on the ground there asking directions in loud English to find out. "Hey you, where's the shitters?"

They're still reeling from the impact of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.

"Goddamit... doesn't anyone speak English?"
and
"We should invade this stupid country."

Those are my favorites.

Maybe it's because the Bolivian government is too socialist:

Nice! Somewhat high democracy!

Economic freedom:

Generally stagnant economic freedom since 1995
thus contributing to their restrained prosperity. Perhaps this makes them more antagonistic to tourists.

Freedom in the World report (2012):
Partly free! Yay!

Trending into crappy territory:

Freedom of the Press (2011)
Bolivia: Partly free

All of this is amusing. I recall having a two hour conversation with an avid state socialist, who lavished praised upon Bolivia, which was one of the few bastions of his ideal society. Hopefully, that guy will sync back into reality.

I think Mongolia would be pretty cool. I saw one of those PBS Art Wolfe documentary things where he takes his camera and documents people and nature, and he hung out in Mongolia and it looked fun. I think he drank some goat milk too.

Is this thread a response to the bulgarian cleric trying to sell a Rolex so he can keep his limousine driver paid while the rest of the citizens of the country starve?

At least the limousin* driver is providing something of value.

*yeah, "limousin" is one of many irrational-sounding words of English.

Dude you really gotta stop calling my inlaws that. And besides, it was your own fault for staying up late, drinking cheap sherry.
