Which was your glory days? Was it when you nuked the Japanese, lost in the jungle to the Viet Cong or performed genocide on the Native Americans?

Most of them are ok, but "the thirteen colonies"... Really? Was it that hard to come up with another thirteen names? Or put them together into one large colony and come up with one really good name for it, that would work, too.

My personal empire doesn't stretch that far back in time. It's been benign and mostly productive.
Anyway, where were y'all in the seventh century? Did y'all evolve from snow and fjords?

You're american, your country has existed for a pathetically short time. Where was your country in the thirteenth century? In the fourteenth century? fifteenth century? If you were Japanese your question would have merit, but you are not.

We could go our individual ancestors, but I only know where one side of my family came from (Mainly Ireland, a bit of Wales, Germany, Somewhere in scandinavia and a teeny tiny bit Native American, so small, it's insignificant). Otherwise, well, Americans have been here for a lot longer than you think. We had cities that dwarfed anything in Europe (maybe even the rest of the world) at one point, had chocolate before the rest of the world, introduced the potatoe, made due without metals for the most part, yet still had some pretty good technology, no pack animals yet had vast farms, some places even had zoos. Where Europe was deforestizing itself (probably just made up that word), the Americans were adapting to nature and only taking what they needed.
But you Europeans had to come in and destroy all that and more to conform to your way of life. Jerks.

Gillipig, I admit I'm confused. Are you jealous of the awesome power of the United States relative to [insert name of Nordic country]'s Dark Age prominence or are you trying to make us feel bad?
