The only way to eliminate bias is to not have any foreknowledge of the game. Therefore, you decide the score, and I will let you know what game you were reviewing. Then you justify your decision.

so you get to have the foreknowledge, instead of us, the reviewers?

Critics are raving over the latest Kickstarter Project - The Tale of ALLTYNEX.

Maybe BBS already played it when he was undercover in Japan? Maybe he just enjoys shooter trilogies?

In other news, Andy rages that Monkey Paw studios should have used more Monkey and less Paw when they made their much-anticipated Class of Heroes 2.

3.14/10

Boobs were well-rendered but the plot had more holes in it than BBS' newest sexbot.

Having been out of gaming for as while, there are two that stood out. When I lived in Japan i got a contract phone which came with a choice of a "free" PS2 or the portable thingy. I went for the PS2.

At the time, game stores were advertising Shadow of the Colossus in store. I picked up a couple of cheap games, plus that. It's still one of the best games I ever played. It's old school in the sense that it doesn't hold your hand. The music and general atmosphere are both fantastic. One of the big draws for me was the ambiguity of the plot. It's very much "show, don't tell".

I love a good dramatic tragedy, and throughout the game you get a sense that you're doing something bad for a good cause. This all in a game with no dialogue, no major exposition, and no enemies apart from the giants.

I'd rate it as a 10/10 game.

After the fact, the game looks dated in terms of graphics and the way in which a lot of recent games push you through a story with little sense of allowing you to interpret what's happening. There was even a movie about a guy obsessed with the game.

Anyway- here's the intro sequence:

show

It helped that both games let you work out how to play them. Final Fantasy was a poor choice in Japanese.
