Map of the US... By company.

Taco Johns doesn't really fit Wyoming. Pepsi maybe, or Subway (you can go to a tiny town in Wyoming of 1000 people or less, and the one chain resturaunt/buisiness they'll have is Subway).

But just an interesting image by cousin posted on facebook. Just thought I'd see what everyone else thought about it.

i think the states get company names based on a company that is headquartered there.

i have a few friends that work or have worked at caterpillar HQ

Nice. Hook me up with a 40-ft Excavator, and remote controls attached to my new Harley.

I'm with John here, though I was going to say, "Where they started." Rather that where theyare headquartered. Subway is from New York. Does anyone know who made the map?

Speaking of Cat in Peoria, Da Gip worked there. I don't know if he doesn't like me or was just trolling when he came on as General Headache. He seemed cordial before that. I suppose as a Satanist he would naturally oppose me. It only showed when he used that one account. He was always interesting and I enjoyed conversation with him as DaGip and his third account they seemed to have banned. I hoped they wouldn't but he's too quiet so they must have finally figured it out. It had a good long run before that I guess.

Nebraska should really be "Runza". It's practically a part of the definition of Nebraska.

If it represented factories then Apple would not be there.

What is the point of posting the map? I'm guessing to make some statement about how corporations own the states or something? Or is it to point out where all the best jobs are?

I have no idea how you drew either of those conclusions.

As to the point of posting it, the original poster essentially stated why in that original post.

I'd really enjoy seeing a more detailed map which put circles with certain, large companies' logos--to see how far these companies extend. One per state is uncontroversial, but a mass of "corporate dots" sweeping across the map of the USA would be more riveting.

Verizon as NY is weird to me.

I would've gone with Goldman Sachs or some other investment bank.

Found that out after posting it. You learn something new everyday.

Also turns out it was started up in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Really? You can't even read what I wrote clear as day in the opening post? Or are you just that dense? All I did was post it so that other people could see it and maybe put their own input into it. In other words, just for fun. No other meaning.

So Hershey's is good for Pennsylvania, but it makes me wonder whether other companies are important enough to have a town surrounding the company (and named for the company). I always thought that was pretty cool.
