The pilot cannot fly anymore without getting the climate file. The climate file expatiates for them what the climate can be—is the climate conducive for them to fly?

What is up with this?

Why should pilots be forced to fly working planes and know the weather?

They will find this info out when they get into the sky. This new reform is unreasonable. They think because they spend billions updating the airports that they can sneak in new restrictions.

It is only a matter of time before they start reading citizens emails.

Is that in response to this thread, or some other one? I can in detail, explain what is happening here.

I really pride myself on my vocabulary, and I had to look that one up too.

"Difficult to understand or obscure", for those of you who haven't gotten to it yet.

Guess reading all of those comics on http://www.abstrusegoose.com is really paying off for me.

I meant in general. I find it hard to read what your actual stance is on many of the topics you post on.
But explaining this thread might be a good start towards my enlightenment.

The totally corrupt Nigerian government spend money to update their policy. They held a vigil in response to a plane crash last year. Then, they were bragging about their new policies. Things which every other country on the planet (except a few African ones) has had since the 20s or 30s.

Can you imagine flying in a country where the pilots didn't have to do a pre-flight inspection or check the weather until last year?

My point is that the difference between a "modern" society and a barbaric one, at least superficially, appears to be governmental regulation. The point being, that as the United States modernizes, it is almost by definition going to become more totalitarian.

The recent email debates could have been predicted.

Funny, I did know the meaning of the word.

It happens often actually, with words that have Latin roots and are similar in Spanish but they are not often used in English.

In response to these dictatorial assertions of power, domestic flight groups have rebelled by not paying their air traffic control tax:

The agencies to include: Nigeria Airspace Management Agency ( NAMA), Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority( NCAA) , Nigeria Meteorological Agency ( NIMET) and the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology ( NCAT) .

The problems are not alleviated.

http://ngrguardiannews.com/national-news/135248-air-traffic-controllers-bemoan-nigerias-unsafe-airspace

He noted that political appointees without cognate experience in support group in the core areas of their agencies were appointed, adding that it was a source of worry to NATCA and called on the government to have a re-think with a view to do the right thing to salvage the aviation industry from total collapse.

....

It would be recalled that many foreign airlines and over flyers are currently avoiding Nigerian air space.

....

According to the report by the National Union of Air Transport Employees (NUATE), “there are several cases where aircraft enter into Nigerian airspace unnoticed until neighbouring airspace notifies us through telephone, e.g. Ndjamena (Chad),” the report said.

It claimed that air traffic controllers on duty “sometimes watch helplessly whenever aircraft are near collision and cannot provide air traffic control due to inability to communicate.”

i have emailed NATCA and told them I could fix the problem, lets see what they reply.

They never replied directly.

However,
http://nigerianobservernews.com/04112013/business/business2.html#.UngfChA4mPA
Makanjuola, who said this while speaking with aviation correspondents at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Ikeja, challenged anyone with a contrary opinion.

He said that such a person or group of persons was only misleading Nigerians.

No one has ever complained about the TRACON project. If the users do not complain, who are we to do so?

Now I know TRACON in Nigeria isn`t the same as radar coverage of Canada. Admittedly, only 95% of Canada is under radar coverage. But we are switching over to GPS based systems. Nigeria is now effectively at an operational level circa 1940s Britain. w00t.
