"Did you smell that?! "
'Yeah, what is that, boss?'
"It smells like... Mexicans."

Can you enter the US with an expired US Passport? By car.

My sister, who was born in the US has done it a couple of times, but my other sister was born in Mexico and has a US Passport but expired, and she's making a scene because she doesn't want to go (it's a long car drive) because she might have to come back.

If they're doing their jobs (Customs), then No, but your sister might make it. If she's got an unexpired travel visa/whatever, then that may assuage them.

It depends on how long she's staying in the US too...

It's risky. Border guards have almost unlimited power. They are not obligated to follow anyone's rules, not even their own. Of course you get some nice ones and sail through with no hassles. Then again you also get some real Himmler wannabes. Personally I wouldn't cross without all documents valid and up to date.

According to this site she will have absolutely no trouble returning to the U.S. without a passport provided she has a valid Merchant Mariner certificate and is a qualified crewman of a seaworthy vessel attempting to return to her ship before it leaves port:

Hope this helps.

Yep, I just talked to the council in Mazatlan, he said it depends on the agent, that he might or not let her in.

Anyway, did you work as a customs agent in the past? Because that's the exact same conversation I always have with them at the border. Except they ask you about the 10,000 dls as well. You'd think they check you like in the tv shows. Nah.

My mom says that she used to cross without a visa , that's like 40 years ago, that my father only had to say she was his wife. Stupid 'Muricans, and they wonder how the drugs get tot he US.

Don't worry nietzsche if you want to cross the border illegally just call me. I'll bring my windowless van down right away.

Here is pictorial representation of nietzsche hiding in AOG's van (he couldn't get the keys to windowless, so they had to go full mini-van).

Duke, he lives in Mexico, the border guards of US must be like ticket guards for him!
