Here is my father's day weekend (I will enjoy all of these activities):

- Saturday - outdoor chores (spend time with children), driving range (during kids' naps), grill, videogames and beer by myself when everyone goes to bed
- Sunday - golf, spend time with children in afternoon, grill

If I wasn't far from my dad I'd probably play golf with him, but since I am I'm going to sit on my ass and do nothing.

Where's the "Going to a bar with friends"-option?

You forgot "This is my day, so can everyone please just leave me the f*ck alone?", otherwise known as the "introvert option".

I think that is a mix of staying in bed by yourself and going to the bar by yourself and playing video games by yourself.

Hmmmmm, I should open a bar for introverts. It could be little separate rooms, you could text your order and it would be placed in a milk chute style compartment.

I would certainly have a Coke or two in such an establishment. A Pepsi-flavored Coke, of course.

Normally, my family just sits around the pool with burgers and chit chats.

Except that this year is the first year without the head of the family, so it's gonna suck.

Better hurry. I'm pretty sure we're going to shut the doors. Jerks keep using the rooms for private sex dens instead of drinking and having a meal by themselves.

were I at home I'd have a quiet toast to my dad who passed away quite some time ago... and though my wife and I are thinking about kids, we don't have any yet... if I did though, I'm pretty sure it'd be sleep in with the wife, maybe go see a movie with the family, then video game solo for a while

My father is currently sleeping. I plan to take him out to dinner. My mom isn't coming because she has a medical procedure tomorrow and has to fast.

So the curlette made breakfast - fruit salad with key lime yoghurt, and cranberry and orange muffins. Then the curlson drove us to a Charlie Brown's where we had a very fine filet mignon , and I had a couple of beers (Sam's Summer Ale). I returned to find the following on my facebook page...

dear daddy,
you have officially been hacked by none other than your beautiful, loving, caring daughter! Just kidding, but i love you so much, and i thought that I'd let all of your cute little friends know how much you mean to [the curlson] and i. I thought that I'd better not over glamorize our dis-functional family, and this picture does just that. Thank you to best man in my life who has carried me on his shoulders until they almost broke, and has used those same shoulders to hold my head when I've cried. Thank you to the man who does all of the cooking and cleaning even when Mum is home. Thank you to the man who has the coolest job out of all of my friends dads. But most of all thank you for being the greatest man in my life to this day. I love you with all of my heart,[the curlette].

oh, and Mrs thecurl is currently in Helsinki on business.
