Sensory deprivation tank

Has anyone been in one?

Has anyone built one?

I want to build one, I hear that with 3,000 I can make it, that's my new project, when I get the time.

Never been in one myself, but my interest aroused when I read about them in a Feynman book if I recall correctly, and since then, some years ago, in the back of my mind I've always wanted one.

Thoughts?

Kinda weird, nietzsche. Besides you'd have to clean it and stuff like a pool or else you'll get mold growing it it, sounds like a real pain in the ass.

Pretty sure you can pay to do this rather than build one. My friend did it once, he said it was really relaxing and first and became almost hallucinogenic in the end.

Not where I am though.

I'd have to build one to get the experience, or buy one, which I bet is pretty expensive

Never go to a big city? I have no idea how easy they are to find, but I'd think you could find one in most big cities. Or maybe a rural hippie hangout.

Mm.. I've never heard about them in Mexico, probably you could find some in Mexico City.. I'm miles away from there.

3,000 dls doesn't seem too much money for something like that, I've always been into that kind of stuff, what consciousness is and all that. I bet I'd use it enough to make it 1 dlr for time used. I rarely buy something that I don't get the money out of it, (except the PS3)

Sure, and if there's none near you, maybe you can rent it out yourself. Business opportunity!

Now purely hypothetically, it stands to reason that if I were to dip my balls in nietsche's sensory deprivation tank while he was in it he'd have no way of knowing it right?

So I tried it the other day.

It was great, first I was experiencing a lot of pain, part of a chronic condition, the sensory deprivation made me more aware of it, but was able to neutralize it.

At the end I was sooooo relaxed, the guy from Office Space came to mind. I walked to the car and I could not really care for what I had to do next, I had to force myself to focus because I was meeting a friend I hadn't seen for years in minutes at phil's bbq and I had no idea how to get there.

I'm no fool, I'm aware it has lot to do with the magnesium salts, but the experience was good, but I think I'd need a couple more times in the tank to get the best of it.

I need to build one for myself..

Jamie got boring, Adam went slightly nuts (even compared to normal)
