Some of these aren't bad, but I feel like we could make a better list. That Swabbie shouldn't be on the list, I don't think. The little artistic flair of metal under the handle with rub your hand raw, leaving it exposed for the virus.
#10 should have been a thick, course, muted statuette of a male member, like from a Clockwork Orange. #1 should have been Jesus, for his love is the best protection in the world from the Undead.

Wouldn't slashing weapons get the zombie blood all over you?
There needs to be a zombie film where the main characters, who have seen zombie films, use slashing weapons. Then there's a battle, and they slaughter the zombies, but after getting all that blood on them, they themselves turn into zombies. /film.

Depends on what type of zombie.
Honestly, a full auto shotgun should do the trick.

According to this statistical analysis, you want a pistol near the start of the outbreak (you're moving fast and just need a good reactionary weapon), a shotgun later (big zombie packs mean you just need more power behind each shot) and then when the ammo runs out you're best off grabbing a sword...

If we're choosing, I'd go with fully fueled private jet (complete with experienced pilot) + villa on private island with zero inhabitants and ample supplies. Then I can just catch up on my reading and wait for the world to sort this whole zombie mess out.

Why are axes on there like 4 times?
Top would be a longsword of any sort...katana, claymore, etc. Then I'd go with any high caliber rifle/pistol or shotgun.

They don't take into account of explosives like bazookas or claymores or grenades? Or how about vehicles! Like tanks! Good luck getting into that.
And what kind of zombies are we talking about? Slow, walks around, just swarms small groups? I feel like that wouldn't be much of a problem, everyone has a gun or something, unless the virus was airborne then that'd present a problem. Or are we talking about like left 4 dead style or the new resident evil games where they use guns and such? I feel like an intelligent zombie working in groups, using their own weapons kind of kills the top 10 list.

Oh, you don't want to use explosives on zombies. Where you have a zombie shambling toward you, after you nade it then you have half a zombie crawling toward you, hidden in the grass or whatever. You don't want to use flame throwers either. Zombie charging, catch him on fire. Now you have a flaming zombie trying to kill you.
Tanks and armored vehicles are the way to go. Just go around squishing them dirty zombies flat. Works well, til you run out of gas. Then someone has to go out there and refuel.

Yeah that's the exact reason why tanks are a bad idea. They're not designed for zombie warfare. They're a safe place to die of starvation or dehydration, but they're impractical for fighting zombies. You'd need some sort of fletchlet rounds to take out a pack of zombies, but then you've got crawlers and whatnot, so it's still not a good idea. I would assume that the basic tank ammo is designed to knock out armor. It's better to go on foot imho.
There are several types of zombies btw. You can't be sure what you're saying will or will not work is actually correct.
A
1950s - Voodoo Zombies They live and they die like any normal human, they just don't have freewill. No extra need to fear their fluids. Films - White Zombie, I Walked With a Zombie
B
1960s - 80s - Radiation Zombies The dead reanimate with a basic, yet ravenous hunger for human flesh or brains, but there's not much else information to go on. Sometimes there are depicted with superhuman strength, exploding out of cemetery's and ripping arms off of healthy adults. These have to be killed with brain damage, but cannot infect you, only kill you. Sometimes these zombies are shown as lumbering and stupid, but other times they are clever and pissed off. Films - Night of the Living Dead, Night of the Comet
C
1960s - Present - Reanimated Corpses Usually created with good intentions, like preventing death, but also sometimes with evil intentions. Reanimated corpses are unpredictable, and often completely insane. These usually have to be killed with brain damage, as the brain is often the only fresh part of the cadaver. An injection with a serum may kill you and bring you back to life as a raving maniac. Yet these rules are not always true. Sometimes once tissue has been reanimated it can only be destroyed by fire, but there is a danger of chemical contamination. Films - The Reanimater, Shock Waves, The Brain that Wouldn't Die, Return of the Living Dead
D
1970s - Present - Zombie Disease It's a virus, usually transferred through bodily fluids. The virus wants to propagate, so it makes it's hosts dumb beyond belief with an intense desire to either eat you or vomit on you.... so if you escape, you will likely be infected. Oftentimes loud noises or special zombie groans will attract other zombies. Sometimes those who aren't infected are just depicted as immune, in which case the virus having some semblance of intelligence from their hosts recognize survivors as a threat, or worse, as an energy source. Films - 28 Days Later, Dawn of the Dead (2004), Planet Terror
E
1970s - Present - Zombie Curse These story's take place in isolated places, where a curse reanimates the Dead, or where wayward souls are able to take control of living hosts. Generally brain damage is the only way to kill them, though sometimes they die like a normal person dies. Beware, the curse can spread. Films - Zombi 2, Raiders of Atlantis, Dead Alive (Brain Dead)
F
1970s - Present - Chemically induced zombie-like rage Something in the food.... or tap water... turns people into homicidal killing machines. Probably best not to tempt fate by getting their bodily fluids on you. But these zombies can be killed like anyone else, or starved out. Sometimes they're too pissed off to eat and accidentally take their own lives through starvation. Films - The Crazies
G
Demonic Possession, End of Days, Alien Induced Zombies These zombies are unpredictable. Movies - Evil Dead
Why are axes on there three times? Who's gonna backpack with a viking axe? I mean-ah, if you have too then you have too, but sheesh.

Yes, but the explanation is mysterious Radiation. In those days the effects of Radiation were still a mystery, and great fodder for Sci-Fi and Horror.

I probably should have tried to be more specific, so I guess we're both right. And because the mysterious radiation blankets the Earth, anyone who dies will reanimate, like the Walking Dead series. So the recently dead in the Night of the Living Dead are trapped in their coffins underground. . . one day they may pop up.

A zombie is something that was once dead and then rose from the dead. People that are infected with a virus are not called zombies. They're called infected.. If a virus is transferred through a person's body, and they become a killing machine, they are not a zombie.

An important issue that II have frequently wondered is how the zombie respond to different climates. One of my plans is to either a). get to the mountains, or b). get to Canada. This is under the assumption that zombies wouldn't like and/or couldn't function as well in the cold. The only exception to this rule that I have seen is the movie Dead Snow.

If the infected in 28 Days/Months Later can be called zombies, then apparently zombies thrive in miserable, year-long weather. Wait, didn't they die out anyway? Maybe they weren't getting enough sun.
You could be on to something!

The infected in 28 Days/Months later are NOT zombies. This is why they are called Infected in the movie, not zombies.

Everyone agrees that 28 Days/Weeks later is a zombie movie. If you do'nt then you're just lying to yourself.

There's a canister round in production for the M1A1. It was developed and tested at a facility in NJ (that's been been doing R&D on munitions for us since the Revolution).
Problem is, we can't use them per the Geneva Conventions.
CLEARLY THE GOVERNMENT KNOWS SOMETHING AND IS PREPARED FOR ZOMBIES. There's no other explanation.

It makes me feel better knowing that our government is ready for zombies. Obviously the NSA spying is in response to a threat that we civilians are too far behind to even realize.
