The curlson takes his driving test tomorrow. Unfortunately he decided he couldn't wait for a ful license and took the car out on his own (against my specific instructions) the other day. He was of course spotted, and has been summonsed for three offences: failing to stop when a police officer raised his hand, failure to stop at a pedestrian crossing, and driving unlicensed. All these occurred at the same time.

I can't imagine being serious and reprimanding your son without slipping a joke or two.

Apparently not: the test is before the court appearance. I suspect it's possibe it might be taken away for a while tho.

Frankly, he's a great driver. The only problem I had was he wasn't legal, so I was worried about him getting caught. "I don't like to say I told you so..." I said, "but I bloody well told you so."
I also said the thing about multi-tasking. Oddly, he didn't find it side-splitting.

No, the sanctions will take other forms. He is now the proud owner (possibly temporarily) of a license as opposed to a permit.

My guess would be he is comparing the Curlson to the non-native Brits driving in Britain? Does that make sense?

I can only assume he was trying to avoid being stopped by the police officer, which from personal experience is not a determination of bad driving.

I mean he is good at making the car go where he wants. Frankly I think the cop may be making up the "pedestrian crossing" bit. He usually does.
Yes, as I pointed out to him in (believe me) great detail before and afterwards, he shouldn't have been driving.
