WWZ

Finally a zombie movie that I dont have to sit through the whole thing, thinking, these slow moronic slugs could never, ever have taken over a kindergarten, let alone an army base.
I am quite certain, that had the pace of the entire movie followed along at the speed of the first half hour or so, I would not have survived the experience.
Saying it was based on the book is a bit of a stretch, but it seems like the sequel will follow it. I suppose naming it the running dead would have been too silly, if completely accurate.
Oh yeah...spoilers!

I absolutely am. One of the people in my party was not even a zombie movie fan...and even he liked it.
Im not offering that it was a deep spiritual film that really makes you think, while maybe it is....all Im saying is that holy f*ck...I was literally on the edge of my seat, and Im pretty sure I ordered the second 22 oz beer...to chase the fear.
Then again...my avatar is a sleestak, so....

I really loved the book, so I'm not sure about the movie.

Then you'll be disappointed with the movie and you'll absolutely hate the ending.
I won't give out any spoilers, but the ending of WWZ was absolute idiocy. It's no wonder that Max Brooks refused to have anything to do with this movie, that's how far away the movie moved from the book. I guess the only reason they called it World War Z was for the name recognition of the book. IDK.
The movie was "meh". I've seen worse, so there is that. The book makes a decent case of how it would be if there was a zombie outbreak. The movie, not so much.

Haven't read the book but the movie doesn't look terribly good from the trailers. I'm probably going to see it though.

I may have to check this flick out, since I haven't read the book
maybe it will be better.
The only recent film I've seen is Mud and I highly recommend it.
Also watched Jango the other night and I'd give it a C-.

I think the movie preludes to the book...or at least that's how they justified the name I suspect.
As I said, I read it via audiobook so by the end of it, it seemed like it just happened. What a great format for a book, and as long as you forget the book the movie was awesome...because unlike ever other zombie movie in history....I am legend being exempt....it at least seemed plausible...

I believe the book was told from a different person's perspective. I do not though because I have not read the book, however it has been recommended several times, so I plan to.

I really did love the book. For my money, it's very original.

I'm bored with zombies. Though I did like the comic Sherlock Holmes vs zombies. A bit.

I wasn't too impressed with it. I resonate Fitz comment about the first half hour, but I extend that to the first half of the movie. It wasn't until they boarded the airplane that I really started to enjoy it.
Overall, I thought there were only two good actors in it. I haven't read the book, so I can't comment on that, but it could have been much better if the acting wasn't mostly subpar (except for about 2 people).

Me too, and I wonder how could've made an adaptation out of it.
Seriously, only a very loose adaptation is possible.

Movie was awful. Terrible acting and all the product placement money (ones I remember were Capital One, Chevrolet, Jack Links Beef Jerky [really?] and Pepsi) couldn't fill the enormous plot holes.

Hey beef jerky is essential in the zombiepocalypse...

Well, the first half hour was so good IMHO I may have let anything else go after that.....perhaps I should mention that I was at a restaurant/cinema that served beer...so after the half hour, maybe I was going to enjoy anything. Anyways, I stand by my recommendation, and with any other title think it was a damn fun movie....not worthy of an oscar notwithstanding.

Were the two guys in the supermarket trying to rape Brad Pitt's wife or rob her?
