Let's Have Some Good News

Postby Woodruff on Tue Jul 16, 2013 11:03 am

How about some things that SHOULD be national news but aren't...because they're good news. This one is down in PLAYER and thegreekdog's area:

...I prefer a man who will burn the flag and then wrap himself in the Constitution to a man who will burn the Constitution and then wrap himself in the flag.

Why aren't men like this celebrated, instead of vain entertainers and the women who f*ck them:

Well, that is kind of depressing in a way.

I kind of used to think. If I could just get a couple of million dollars to use for charitable purposes, I could solve so many problems. Build some terrific things to help poor people, maybe eradicate homelessness in a city or region...
Mean while after more than 6 billion dollars, the effects of Mr. Feeney's works went unnoticed by us.

Edit: Still considering this after a few hours. I think it's somewhat encouraging to continue trying to effect people in my small sphere in the best ways possible on what ever scale I can. It just brings perspective on how helping others is an ongoing process that can never end.

We can never solve every problem. Somewhere there will always be new ones.

Good thread :)

I especially like Feeney
I go to the gym to justify my mockery of fat people.

Feeney is amazing, and I've never even heard of him.
