What singer do you sound like and what singer do you wish you sounded like?
I sound like Aaron Lewis of Staind:
I kind of look like him too except I have more hair.
I wish I sounded like Freddie Mercury:

Wished: Gil Scott-Heron
Wished (way too difficult):
Johnny Adams, a.k.a. the Tan Canary
Wished (Fela's got a funny accent though): Fela Anikulapo Kuti
(starts around 7:50) (see also 39:00, he can yell/growl while singing--kinda like metal, but not quite--e.g. Phil Anselmo at certain points (1:00:55)
Actual:
I can do an okay Louis Armstrong - What a Wonderful World for only a little bit since it tears my voice up.
I can do some of Gil Scott-Heron's stuff, but I suffer at projection, can't do higher notes (don't know how).

It really depends.
When I am in Church, and when we are doing a lot of the 70's an 80's church music composed by Irish American Catholic Composers I generally lay the Irish accent on thick when I'm singing the melody. On tunes where the melody is written lower than normal, my Scots accent come through. From a classical baritone performance I sound more "classical."

I get a bit flustered if I have to raise my voice when singing, so I usually sing a bit too low. At my absolute best I sound like the Oogie Boogie Man.
My wish

Regular voice and singing voice are already a deep baritone natural bass.
Kind of like Paul Robeson, but white, and a more classical tint.
I wished I sounded more like a cross between Bing Crosby and Freddie Mercury. More of a Tenor voice that can do Jazz, Classical, and Rock. Right now, my voice is too refined and have no hope of getting that 'raw' sound that a lot of 70s-80s singers had, so I go with a couple of guys with great singing voices and would love a combination of them. You have the smooth yet jazzy sound of Bing Crozby's baritone and the flexible yet refined alto of Freddie Mercury.
