That is the number of smokers reported
to have switched to
electronic cigarettes.Propolyene Glycol is a prime component in E-Cigs
that many people will associate with anti-freeze.
But it's use goes way beyond auto coolants.
Is it safe?btw... this is my 9th week without a smoke

700 000 people bet on the Giants last week to cover the spread. Yes, they can be wrong.

I've never understood people's problems with smoking tobacco. Sure, it'll kill you, but at least it's natural.
Mountain Dew, on the other hand - that junk's liquid sewage.

I disagree. In fact I don't believe you have had liquid sewage on your hands. Which by the way is typically all natural depending on the diet of those it came out of.

Death is natural. Very few cigarette brands manufactured today or in recent decades are actually made with natural tobaccos. In fact nearly all goods manufactured for human consumption in modern times are "new improved" with chemical additives.

Can 700,000 people be wrong?
Does M. Knight Shyamalan like to produce bad movies with horrible plot twists?

Did Shyamalan do the "I see dead people movie"
and nothing worthwhile since?

You're on a roll with the quotes right now.
It's going to kill you but at least it's natural? What kind of thinking is that? Volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, HIV and man-eating predators are also natural but we tend to steer clear of those if we can.

Yes, 700,000 people can be wrong.
Smoking cigarettes is bad though, and ~30% of the people smoke them. So I believe 30% of the people are wrong and 70% are right.

All downhill from there. Some much more so than others.

Hey, Lady in the Water was a great film! I never saw that twist coming.
After Earth was a little disappointing, though. I was hoping it was going to be more like Prometheus.
And 2dimes, you're right about the Dew. I should have said it's literally liquid sewage.

The caustic qualities of Mountain Dew
don't qualify it as sewage.
Prometheus is the Alien prequel right?
Pretty cool, I just like that series...
including Alien vs. Predator.

My problem with smoking is that it kills other people, too - secondhand smoke is
just as deadly as what smokers breathe in.
Also, it smells awful.

I've always loved the smell of a nice pipe. So pungent, so earthy. It'd be my tobacco delivery system of choice. The best part of the whole Rings trilogy is Merry and Pippin smoking hobbit leaf in the ruins of Isengard.
I've never appreciated the taste of a good cigar, though, and I've always considered that a real shortcoming of mine.
But congrats, oVo. It's really hard to quit smoking. My dad quit cold turkey for us when I was a kid, and it must have been tough. Nicotine patches and gum weren't available back then, and I didn't even notice it until one day when he asked me if I noticed anything different. He still has a nasty cough from all his years of smoking, though.

Humans
The acute oral toxicity of propylene glycol is very low, and large quantities are required to cause perceptible health damage in humans; propylene glycol is metabolized in the human body into pyruvic acid (a normal part of the glucose-metabolism process, readily converted to energy), acetic acid (handled by ethanol-metabolism), lactic acid (a normal acid generally abundant during digestion),[16] and propionaldehyde (a potentially hazardous substance).[17][18][19]
Serious toxicity generally occurs only at plasma concentrations over 1 g/L, which requires extremely high intake over a relatively short period of time.[20
Safe enough.
Asking, "compared to what?" also helps. Compared to the risk of getting cancer from smoking, using e-cigarettes is much safer. inb4 "Well, don't intake any nicotine!" which is sometimes not the most valuable option.
Some brands mix or use 100% vegetable glycerin to make the 'nicotine juice', so if propylene glycol is icky, then people can switch to the veggie option (or opt for greater proportions of it).

Even if you're not a fan of the TV series, The Last Airbender is a horrible movie. The Village was semi-interesting until the plot twist. The rest is history.
