Conquer Club

I'd like to create a list of reasons why we should use fossil fuels. But the twist is that we won't discuss global warming. Instead, we'll focus on all of the other reasons why we shouldn't switch to a different energy dependence; please keep climate science discussions to a different thread. I'll start.

1. I enjoy hearing people complain about using them

Number one pretty much sums up this whole entirely list.

Positions that don't weigh costs AND benefits are stupid, but I'll gladly participate in this stupid thread:

2. The use of fossil fuels creates smog which decreases sunlight, thereby diminishing the risk of sunburns.

3. Oil covered seagulls are cute.

4. It's fun watching shaman walking over hot coals.

5. digging holes in the ground is heaps of fun

7. What could be greater than freeing the fragments of Earth's history and then gloriously releasing them into the skies? Nothing!

8. Corvettes.

9. Ethanol increases the rate of capital depreciation (i.e. it accelerates the rate of damage for car engines and any other gasoline-powered engine), thereby decreasing wealth thus decreasing the total well-being of society.

Sustainable energy is prohibitively expensive for all but the richest countries. Fossil fuels give all nations the chance to develop and enjoy prosperity.

13. They sell them at the gas stations. Gas stations are everywhere.
