I'm surprised he was only 89.

I figured the whole cast was long dead.

The Howells and the Skipper are long dead, about 25 years for each of them.

Gilligan died about 7 years ago.

Ginger and Mary Ann are still alive. Actually, Mary Ann was supposed to be at the San Diego comic con last year but had to pull out at the last minute. I was quite bummed.

"I think, what I love most at this point in time in the long life of Gilligan's Island is the positive, intelligent nature of longtime Gilligan aficionados," he wrote on his website. "It amazes me. I have received mail throughout the years from young viewers from all over the world, year after year, who were so influenced by the Professor's smarts that they became science buffs and are now real professors, doctors and scientists. It makes me proud."

I was a huge fan of this show growing up in prehistoric times (the 1970's). A sad day for the older generation of CC :(
