- Get a job where you work 60 to 70 hours a week
- Have a spouse and two young children
- Have hobbies (e.g. writing, participating on internet forums, reading, participating on internet gaming sites, video games, sports)
- Drink beer with your friends instead of drinking beer while looking at your friends' Facebook pages.
The best thing about Facebook is finding out whether girls that were hot in high school and college are still hot (note: the answer is usually no, unfortunately).

I was tired of all the fucking people sharing Buzzfeed articles.

Anyone else deleted their account?
One the one hand, it's nice to keep in contact with people that you don't see often without having to do a lot of work. On the other hand it's full of stupid memes and other pointless crap that people post all the time.
I don't have an ad blocker otherwise the volume of ads would make the negative list as well.

Good for you. I support you in this decision. I have also done that.
All social media is a form of superficial/psuedo socialization.
I would argue that they mostly have negative effects.
- Enabling attention-whoring.
- Small windows of perspectives of people's lives through pictures uploaded can cause dissatisfaction with your own life.
- Enables people to not actually keep in touch because they "have them" on social media. A real relationship with someone is made with constant, consistent effort and with physical presence.
- Enables data farming of personal information.
- Can destroy privacy all-together.
- Seems to indirectly put focus on your image rather than who you really are.
Those are only a few reasons why it's bad. I'm sure there are other harmful effects.radiojake wrote:You can't ever delete it - You can 'de-activate it' but if you ever log back in, all the stuff will be there
That's partially true.
They give you the option to "delete" it but if you decide to, which I did, they still keep some things.
