I am going to try to use 10 buzzwords in this post.
We need to build a new brand based on eventizing basic events:
Instead of Superbowl Sunday, we feature BATTLE SUNDAY
The newsday starts at the crack of dawn (none of this going by the hour shit; we go by the Sun) with a preview show on Thailand's history; Costa Rica's history, El Salvador's history and the NFL's history. Similar to how a documentary following 2 teams might go back and forth between the teams, we will go back and forth between these events. Then we switch to primarily violent montages about the protests and elections in Thailand.To break up the monotony a bit there will be live interviews in the central american election areas.
We follow this until the end of the day. Just like how CBC does Canadian election coverage and every channel covers the Presidential race, there will be that type of coverage following all 3 elections, plus the superbowl. Some important imagery to include would be that San Franciscan journalist who claims that El Salvadoreans and not the CIA should decide the election; the Costa Rican Libertarian candidate explaining exactly how Libertarianism and thinking abortions should be illegal are not mutually exclusive; some good ol' fashion trivia game where 'muricans are shown pictures and have to decide if they are of Thailand, Cambodia or Vietnam.
The marketing needs to start in October 2013. Social media needs to be tricked into co-operating by creating scads of fake memes in the hopes that some of them will become real.
There needs to be a live-event where people can go and sit live and watch all 4 events on 4 huge tvs on 4 different walls. It would have a great host. I was going to suggest booking Pete Seeger, but he kind of shit the bed on that one, so we'll go with Jimmy Kimmel.
Merch sales would be huge, except we would aim to break even on merch, in the hopes of creating more buzz for the next one.
I bet people would watch it, if only to see what the f*ck was happening.
And of course, this would be fully integrated with the monthly challenge medal for maximum impact.
