Is it nothing more than the ultimate expression of free markets on a global scale or is it the ultimate expression of Fascism-Communism-Marxism? Could it be a natural progression of humanity or forced progress by back door deals?

Perhaps just a growing population.
7 billion people is quite a lot.

I'd love globalism if it was a [transparent] technology exchange, but shipping low value products 1000's of miles because vertically integrated uber-brands have a firm hold on our culture seems a bit daft*
* note: BBS I am not against vertically integrated uber-brands in themselves, but the stranglehold they have on our culture - which is primarily an issue with, well, us

A market seen as a self regulating mechanism tending toward domination of supply and demand. Thus securing the most efficient allocation of resources. But it is hard to interpret globalism because everyone ideological and political views are different.

Is language a barrier to globalism? (or 'globalism' on larger scales, a la solar systems, galaxies)? I remember thinking that Galactic Basic in Star Wars was interesting -- and same with all the English speaking aliens of Star Trek.

If anything I think it may be the translation from language to language that could play a significant role. Change the meaning of a word one decade, does it still have the same meaning or effect in the future. Has that language been modified over years? Does imperialism play a significant role in corporations or do corporations play a significant role in imperialism. Does imperialism=globalism?

I see increased globalization as a good thing. It gives people more opportunities to learn from other cultures.

Is it a " one size fits all program" even though the world is very complex and diverse with multiple nationalities and religious differences each playing a significant role? Are corporations exempt from these differences as they are able to conform to these differences? Is there a rule of law that all can agree on to enforce this globalization process?

Phats if you want to go the rout of conspiracy we can go there but in a different forum. I could give detailed examples of IBM-ITT-Ford-Standard OIL-GE connections to Hitler and Himmler. Or how they gained significantly from war. Maybe Skull and Bones connections in detail. If you really want to go that rout. Maybe Nixon and Rockefeller connections?

There is no overarching 'program'. Various parts of the world are becoming more greatly interconnected due to increased links between businesses, governments, universities, individuals etc. This process is not being led by one shadowy, detached organization but by individuals all over the world, meaning that all of their individual views, beliefs etc. are incorporated into the end product.

For anyone else to doesn't know what that is or what it means, globalism is the New World Order. The New World Order is globalism. Total world domination is within reach.

Okay, then I'd go with global free market (and good luck with that).
I was thinking more along the lines of global culture; which is best enforced by a worldwide dictatorship.

Bingo. Globalism really kicked into high gear with Nixon and Kissinger, no? Really I think it started at an organizational level under Woodrow Wilson for us, 1912-13-14. I don't think that's a conspiracy.

and ya know what else? Your post is only genuine if you honestly believe that the new world order has nothing to do with globalism, or that globalism has nothing to do with the new world order. Is that what you honestly believe GreekDog? Or are you dragging every other topic you disagree with in the past 4 years into every post I make about any thing today?

How can you enforce culture? Even if you outlaw certain cultural practices, you can't force people to think differently. All you'll do is drive certain subcultures underground.
