I wouldn t mind at all to see canada finish #1 but i guess some russian mobs will make sure it doesn t happen.

The medal stats are always skewed throughout the tournament until we near the end, just on the basis of which events end first.

It's an interesting split right now - Norway has 6 medals from Cross-Country Skiing (plus 2 more from Biathlon) while Canada has their 6 from Freestyle Skiing.

More of the speed skating and various downhill events will balance it more with other countries. Plus, as luge continues, the Germans will move up the rankings.
