India might be getting a new state, as the bill that creates it has just passed through the lower Parliament. Once the Senate gives it the Ol' CheckPlus+, there will be a new state.
Some people are going all bitch-bitch about it though. This is because the creation of the new state is a political move, designed to give power to ruling parties. How dare politicians make political moves?
It got me to thinking. I like the idea of political boundaries changing regularly, however to expect elected officials to push this stuff without political motivation is naive.
So, my new plan is based on the video we were watching earlier (and we all did our OT homework before coming here, right?). Every 20 years, all the nations will be rebranded. A giant etch-a-sketch will be set up superimposed on a map of the world. We will use a TwitchPlaysGeoPolitics program to accept input into the etch-a-sketch. Each input will move the cursor 1km (in real terms, represented by a pixel on the etch-a-sketch). After a set number of inputs, each gap between borders is one municipality. These municipalities are then free to associate withe each other as they please. There will be like a bajillion ocean municipalities, which will get rid of International waters.
