Kentucky starts seven Freshman, they beat Louisville twice,
but lost to Florida three times (SEC Championship by 1 point).
VS
Connecticut beat Florida twice, but lost to Louisville three times.

Connecticut Women also reach the Championship game
against Notre Dame.

This has to be the highest combination of seeds in the men's tournament in history, right?

I'm pretty sure a 16 has made it to the finals before which would be more than both combined.

A Kentucky win will match the lowest seed to ever win a Championship. Villanova was a #8 seed when they won it all back in 1985. Butler was a #5 seed when they lost the Championship game to Duke (2010) and a #8 seed losing the Championship game to UCONN (2011). Possibly the biggest Championship Game upset was pulled off by North Carolina State back in 1983.

A #1 seed has never lost to a #16 in the Men's Tourney,
but on the Women's side #16 Harvard beat #1 Stanford
back in 1998.

I thought this was going to be the year a 16th seed finally won a game, when Coastal Carolina had a 10 point lead on #1 seeded Virginia.

UCONN never trailed after a fast start, but Kentucky trimmed the lead to a single point several times. The Huskies made big shots when they needed them and went 10 for 10 from the line, while no Wildcat shot well for the game including Young who was 7 of 8 at the line, but the rest of his team went 4 for 15.

This Women's Championship had the distinction of being the first
time two undefeated teams have met in a Final.

Connecticut ladies finish a perfect season
with their Ninth Championship.
