As ideal as it may be to 'turn the other cheek' or 'ignore bullies', in some crucial cases you really need to strike back (verbally and/or physically); otherwise, you come off as a 'little bitch'. No one wants to be a little bitch.

Some people only respect strength, so you gotta dish it out when they demand it.

It's like what George Carlin said about curse words. You have to execute them at the right time in the right place. Judicial violence has its clear benefits.
