I guess it's only a matter of time before the town of Greece is voting to join the Russian Federation then.

You're in Thailand. Why the hell should you care? I'm in Detroit. I don't give a fuck if the town of Greece, or my hometown in Michigan, opens a meeting with prayer. I'm not attending the meeting anyway, so not one fuck shall be given.
Bollocks.

I went to public school before they abolished prayers. Every morning we recited the Lord's Prayer, sang Oh! Canada (and during the first three years also sang God Save the Queen) (and we sang Oh! Canada with the proper lyrics, all three verses, this was in the days before Trudeau's Communist bastardized version came out) and we had five minutes of reading the Bible aloud followed by another five minutes of reading the Bible silently. And guess what? It didn't kill me, it didn't turn me into a jesusfreak, and it didn't make me forget the skeptical and scientific veiwpoint that my parents had taught me.
It won't kill your town council to have them spend a couple minutes pondering whether there's anything to be learned from Joshua or Ezekiel (though most likely the councillors will waste those minutes masturbating on their iPhones instead.)

Wow. I went to a private Catholic school, I don't remember ever reading the Bible in class, or even talking about it in class. We recited the pledge of allegiance every morning, that was about it. We only did Bible stuff when we walked across the street to Church on Wednesday's.

No but it could lead to a whole raft of lawsuits from people unhappy with decisions of the council that there was religious bias, and having the christian prayers in there just gives them the ammo to do so.
The question to ask is that if the town was majority muslim or hindu, would the 5 catholic judges that voted in favour of allowing prayer still have voted in favour of muslim or hindu prayer? How about satanist prayer? The ruling basically says that if the majority of the council share the same religious beliefs then they should be allowed to express them while discharging their public duties. Forgeting the unconstitutionality of this ruling which will almost certainly be challenged by someone or other it opens the door for all kinds of things that, if evenly applied (which I doubt somehow...), those catholic judges would find absolutely abhorrent if they weren't so short-sighted as to think this is a christians vs the rest of the world argument... they've just opened pandora's box, and I look forward to seeing them squirm around the logical inevitabilities of their stupidity...
PS Freedom of religion, if it is going to apply to everyone, also requires freedom from religion. Why is that? You do not truly have the freedom to practice your religious beliefs if you are also required to adhere to any of the religious beliefs or rules of other religions. The people that filed the suit were discriminated against and bullied in those council meetings because they refused to join the christian prayer and they were not both atheists, one is a jew. Where is her freedom OF religion if she is forced to join in something she finds blasphemous to her faith just to get heard at public government meetings?

Actually it was the so-called religious people who burn people at the stake.
Never heard of any non-religious people who burned any people at the stake.

You're as brilliant as the last guy. I DO care about the right to pray. I don't care who you choose to pray to. Is that clear enough for you? Or are you intentionally ignorant?
Bollocks.

Sorry, but you should have been more specific, as most posters like yourself can't be taken too seriously.
