I don t know, but i got mod edited for promoting gay sex with unarmed coloured people in another thread. I think it s a bit bigoted to get mod edited for that.

Yes, it's called Putin. The Russian people will soon regret Putin's tough guy image, as the Russian economy comes crashing down in the next year or two.

And in the past the same comments that got a mod edit would have earned you a forced forum vacation.. take it or leave it, I can always put that line in the sand back where it was.

I could understand how you could consider flaming the fact of opening a thread to ask users what they think of other users. I still don t understand what is wrong with the comment i made, obviously in jest and that doesn t break any site rule. I was making fun of his bigoted comments, and those are the ones not allowed in here. I just ask for guidelines to understand what is "acceptable" to write in here and what is not as you just confused me.

This is what happening: xtratabasco is clearly bigoted, either that or he's just trolling us, I really don't know. In the past that would've earned him a ban. betiko watched from behind the fence long enough before making a sarcastic comment on what he thought was bigotry. TeeGee had to react and now he's defending his position, and it's true, in the past that would've been a ban, first for xtratabasco and then for betiko.

I don't have a problem with xtratabasco because I'm Mexican and can take spicy. I simply ignore his posts. But before you two get into a heated argument, you're both correct. Even xtratabasco is correct in his world, be it his bigoted world or his comedy-genius world that I'm simply too stupid to get.

And since everyone must be ban-worthy at the end of this post, here's some porn:

1. Making a thread whose sole purpose is to discuss another member's characteristics in a negative light cannot be seen as anything but flaming. Its truth or falsehood is irrelevant. I won't belabor the point, since you seem to understand it already.
2.
  1. When someone starts flaming, responding to it in jest can be seen as adding fuel to the fire. Even if the jest is relatively innocuous, it can add momentum to the cycle of flame/counterflame. If a mod is going to take any action at all, he has to take action against both sides of the cycle, or he will be seen as grossly biased. TeeGee is a remarkably fair man, and it was obvious that once he started deleting tabasco's flames he also had to delete the counterflames.
  2. Your comments, in and of themselves, did not break any site rules. You have to consider what you are participating in, in toto. The flame/counterflame cycle you were participating in needed to be extinguished, so not only did the original fire have to be put out, but the extra wood you were piling up.
  3. Remember, having your flamed mod-edited out and/or the thread locked is not a punishment. This is one of the biggest misconceptions on the site. The point of deleting an offending post or locking a thread is to defuse a potential bomb before punishments become necessary. It is a friend taking the car keys out of your hand, rather than a cop arresting you for drunk driving. Sometimes people who's thread get locked or comments get deleted don't fully realize that a friend is doing them a favour and keeping them from digging a hole.

it wasn't a counter flame or whatever, it was my op message. I just said that I wanted to promote gay sex with coloured people as long as they don't carry guns to be more safe. It didn't go very far in my opinion, it was still in a friendly banter mode and xtratabasco was answering very mildly, just as 2 people having diametrically different opinions. It might have sounded more like a fight in the next messages when people added stuff about him; but at the end of the day I was just very surprised at what he decided to erase.

It all depends on who one asks.

It all depends on where one looks and what POV one has.

I think if you were to ask this question to a higher or a very powerful being such as Ceileopestis, it's answer would be that the concept of good and evil is something lesser beings imagine. Higher beings have an all together different concept of good and evil. That is, there is only cause and effect and powerful beings such as it need not worry about primitive concepts such as "good" and "evil".

If a person where to bomb a building he'd be considered "evil" in many cases (depending on from whom's perspective one views the action). However, if God destroys a building with an earthquake, it's part of a plan and isn't evil.

But to us mere mortals there is certainly good and evil. That you have to ask if it exists and if so where is, bodes both ill and well for you. For you, because you must ask, apparently haven't experienced evil yet in your life (and hopefully that will continue) and this is well. But that you have to ask about "good" bodes ill because if you haven't experienced good in your life yet then you are truly in a miserable state.
Unless of course you are just asking the question just to.

Oh, and to Dukasaur and betiko, is derailing a thread against the rules? Hahaha!

Like if patches raped you. If one were to ask you while you're laying in a puddle of your own blood and feces you might say the act was evil. If they asked patches he would say it was awesome.

The show host here is annoying, but the debate clip he cuts to is interesting.
