2013 Lost to Red Sox League Championship Series
2012 Swept by the Giants in the World Series
2011 Lost to the Rangers in the League Championship.

Hmmm. I'll say 2014 they lose to the A's in the League Championship. :P

You're not following the matrix. It's an even-numbered year, so we'll make the World Series.
Also, the team reinvented itself this year. We're better than the previous three years. It's been 30 years since our last title; we're due.

Detroit 27 15 .643 - 6-4 L3 13-8 14-7 5/21 @ CLE, L 10-11 5/22 vs TEX, 1:08 PM
Minnesota 22 21 .512 5.5 7-3 W1 12-11 10-10 5/20 @ SD, W 5-3 Live @ SD

I laugh out loud!

The Twinkies beat your Tigers. Minnesota was gracious enough to take Hughes out of the game when Verlander was taken out. Minnesota didn't have to take Hughes out, but it was the gentleman thing to do. Rick Anderson didn't want to rub Detroit's noses in it, so he had Hughes taken out! He only had 86 pitches, he could have easily pitched the next inning (and probably should have, since the Twins Bullpen SUCKS ASS!)

You can gloat about Detroit being the best team in Baseball, but the Twins held their own against them and the Sox!

Schwarzach is your best pitcher by far, but I am proud that Minnesota did what they did during this part of the season. None of us thought they would have come this far, and in addition they are grabbing the Tiger by the tail in the standings!

Tigers are good, but the Twins deserve a little bit of praise as well.

As far as Ortiz goes...what did they feed that man when he was a kid???? AND WHY DID THE TWINS LET HIM GO??????

To be completely honest, winning the World Series last year was very surprising. We pretty much had the same pitching staff as 2012 (save a healthy Lackey) and our lineup was oddly very productive.

Hopefully the East stays really close.

The "fat guy" is arguably one of the best hitters in the league of this era and will probably end up being one of the best hitters ever.

Can't believe it's been 30 years since '84. I have lived in Iowa for the past 10 years but spent the first 28 years in Michigan. I am a big fan and almost always make it back for a 3 game series.

I believe it was 2003 when they lost 119 games....I went to around 35 games that season...saw 1 victory. I would always buy a $5 nose bleed seat and almost always sit in the first row since paid attendance was always about 5000 people.

Go Tigers!

Put a wig on Fielder and Gillipig would be all over him.

Oakland is the first to 30 wins,
time for them to chill a bit.

Since their Zubaz adventure, the Tigers have lost four straight, and looked fairly bad doing it.
Too much fun too soon for Detroit.

Tigers aren't fairing well against the American League West,
but the Rangers have a 3-1 start to this long road trip.

The Fielder thing sucks in a Texas season with way too many
players on injured reserve already.

Only the lowest of the low would vote for Jeter. This stuff makes me hate sports. Sports is supposed to be the ultimate example of a merit-based economy. It's the only place where people who are good at stuff get rewarded for it. Fandom tears into that a bit, and this worshiping of retiring players ruins it completely.

I hate the retirement tours. I hate opposing teams giving gifts to awesome rivals. And I hate giving All Star appearances to washed up players who don't deserve them.
