Yes, but technology makes it so you can still have guns, just that your gun can only be fired by you...the gun owner. Why is this so bad?

How fast can a person strap on a watch when an intruder comes in your house in the middle of the night? Is it easier to just pick up a gun or strap on a watch then grab your gun? In that situation every second counts.

The technology is a start. It could easily incorporate these other identification means...if not biometrics itself.

If the CIA burst into my home with Apache helicopters and rabid dogs, ready to abduct me and send me to one of their camps, then I can't very well throw my smart gun to my partner and ask them to cover me, can I?

Chip him too. Sharing it with trusted friends and family should be easy enough.

 "If the CIA burst into my home..." Are we over speculating here? If the CIA did bust into your home, I hope you would remain civil and calm. Unless, of course, you are indeed a wanted terrorist or enemy of the state?

I am sure the technology can be improved upon to accommodate authorized people in your household. The way I envision the technology eventually working is that you would have nano-robotic filaments that house themselves in the gun, your house door, your automobile. Instead of a stupid password to enter on a watch or whatever, your personal items can be programmed to recognize your fingerprints, body temperature, heart beat, and genome.

In regards to a firearm, the handle can be made of a silicone grip. The grip would recognize your biometrics. Then the nano-bot filaments would penetrate your skin...fairly painless. Your blood would be tested by the computer to see if you are who you say you are, if not...the nano-bots would give off an electric shock.

When the military and all law enforcement agencies use this technology on ALL individual weapons, then I'll consider it. Until such time, keep yer fookin' hands off my weapons. :D

Relax B-dawg I'm guessing this is not even at the electric car stage of development. Our kids or grandchildren might see it available to everyone.

So what if it's the only choice in Jersey? How many manufacturers are developing them currently?

No, that's the whole reason for the second amendment. Without it, you have no rights at all and the CIA can rape your wife, on a whim.

I don't have any pics of my ex-wife and her lesbian others, but the one she is with now is the best one. However, in regards to your response, I agree wholeheartedly. The technology will only get better, and soon your weapon, house, car, bank account, etc. will all be easy access and secure via your DNA signature and Biometric Data.

Why are people opposed to this? What is so bad about guns being able to tell who their owners are?
