Mazda (/əˌhʊrəˌmæzdə/;[1]), is the Avestan name for a higher spirit of the Old Iranian religion who was proclaimed as the uncreated spirit by Zoroaster, the founder of Zoroastrianism. Mazda is described as the highest spirit of worship in Zoroastrianism, along with being the first and most frequently invoked spirit in the Yasna. Mazda first appeared in the Achaemenid period (c. 550 – 330 BCE) under Darius I's Behistun Inscription. Until Artaxerxes II (405–04 to 359–58 BCE), Mazda was worshiped and invoked alone.

Keep your fucking religion out of this.

What happened in 2007? Did everyone lose their balance?

Also, "a freakin segway" is covered under "other."

What if they live in LA? Impossible to live there and not drive a car.

I've known people who lived in LA all their lives and didn't know the LA Metro Rail existed. It's nice that no one ever uses it because it's always clean and beautiful. Unfortunately, unless you live at the Ripley's Believe it or Not Museum and work at the La Brea Tarpits, it doesn't go anywhere.

LA is too geographically substantial to make bicycles a realistic transportation option; Los Angeles County is half the size of Wales ... imagine having to bicycle the length of Wales daily to commute to and from work, then add-in 100 degrees with no cloud cover and a bunch of nietzsche's cousins yelling "ola, joto" at you because they think your bicycle shorts are too short (I like to feel the breeze on my legs and flaunt my hot bod).

Very few North American cities have a sufficiently efficient public transit to get to work. I detailed one example for you back in this thread: Subject: What's the Bigger Problem - Crack Cocaine or Materialism? Twenty minutes to get to work by car, 2.5 hours by public transit. Repeat at night, for a net loss of more than four hours out of every day by taking public transit.

As for bicycles, that's taking your life in your hand. North American drivers are rude and impatient, they take the slow speed of bicyclists as a personal insult, deliberately crowding them. There are many accidents between cars and bicycles, but there are even more accidents with bicyclists running into stationary objects while swerving to avoid a car that didn't yield the right of way when it should have.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mechanized_infantry
Mechanized infantry are infantry equipped with armored personnel carriers (APCs) or infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs) for transport and combat (see also mechanized force).

Mechanized infantry is distinguished from motorized infantry in that its vehicles provide a degree of protection from hostile fire, as opposed to "soft-skinned" wheeled vehicles (trucks or jeeps) for motorized infantry. Most APCs and IFVs are fully tracked, or are all-wheel drive vehicles (6×6 or 8×8), for mobility across rough ground. Some nations distinguish between mechanized and armored infantry, designating troops carried by APCs as mechanized and those in IFVs as armored.

I was not implying the distinction between the two doesn't make sense, something I think you are implying that I was implying, but I'm only guessing that that was what you are implying.

No, I wasn't implying what you thought I was implying.

It's just when someone says "mechanized", I think of mechanized infantry. I realize the world has many other uses, but that's the first thing that pops into my mind. I guess I'm a bit of a history buff, but when someone says "mechanized" I immediately think of the debates that raged in the British and German General Staffs at the beginning of WWII about the relative importance of mechanized versus merely motorized troops.

Which brought me full circle to the purpose of this thread, because an Armoured Personnel Carrier really is the coolest form of transport.
