George Jr's daddy got him a cushy little posting to the Alabama National Guard while nam was going on. The damn guard didn't even know where he was for 2 damn years. Again didn't mind shipping boys out by the boatland to get blown up by by IED's in unarmoured humves.

However, did you know that Robert Reich was school buddies with Michael Schwerner who used to stick up for Reich because Robert was often an easy target for bullying? Then, later on, Mr. Schwerner was murdered by the Klu Klux Klan in 1964 sticking up for African American voting rights in Mississippi?

Much as I dislike Bush, it's a two way street there. If you join the service, you should expect that you're going to get killed. That is the function of a soldier.

Yes, but the function of a Secretary of Labor (such as the well thought of and admired Robert Reich) is to accomplish things that are directly related to and positively beneficial for labor and economics.
