Why do you guys hate ColecoVision so much?

It's only a matter of time before this true gaming system takes center stage over the world again. There is nothing you can do about it, unless you support fancy, schmancy controllers that require multiple combinations of input for one special move. We don't need more than a joystick, and a fire button (with possibly a button for a shield or to jump). The technological revolution that is PlayStation. XBox, or Wii can't sustain itself & needs attractive advertising from Mega-Corporatists to fool the masses into purchasing.

Nothing beats Frogger, Galaxian, and especially Pitfall

...and it ALREADY comes with Donkey Kong pre-packaged when you open it up.

Assassins Creed & Halo are not real games! You can't sustain these superb graphics! ColecoVision has won!

Frogger was really cool, and Donkey Kong was downright mind-blowing.

This is what makes this a really good parody thread. It teaches a valuable lesson.

"How do we learn to covet, Clarice? We covet that which we see every day."

Donkey Kong was so amazing, because we didn't know there could be anything better. Then came the Nintendo, and Nobunaga's Ambition for the Nintendo, and life changed overnight. If I had never known that Nobunaga's Ambition was possible, I would have been content with Donkey Kong.

Under the Communists, I was perfectly content to line up half an hour and receive 100 grams of cream cheese. It tasted so good! Then we came to Canada, and you could go to the supermarket and buy 500 grams of cream cheese. Hell, you could buy 500 kilograms of cream cheese if you were crazy enough! But you know what? It just doesn't taste the same, and 100 grams seems like just a tease. Now I am morbidly obese.

The ability to drown ourselves in this ocean of materialistic excess hasn't brought happiness. But unfortunately, the nature of the mind being what it is, if we knew of the existence of this ocean and didn't jump into it, we would go mad with cravings instead. The only real solution is to remain perpetually ignorant.

While I agree with you that materialism has not lead to happiness I disagree with your solution here.
There is a simple satisfaction that comes from denying yourself a craving, from stopping yourself from being controlled by your impulses.
A cold joy at the fact that your will is stronger than your desires.
Ignorance is the easy path but rarely the best one.

I hate ColecoVision because it is not a viable entertainment system anymore.

What's that? You want people to behave as adults instead of children who haven't learned to just grab what they want?

That's downright progressive man.

So everyone should have one of those Magnavox PONG systems by this logic, as long as it's provided by the guv'mint?
