A Muslim finally has an apology that Westerners wanted.

If you have read a yahoo comments section on anything related to Muslims the last few months, you would notice a large number of them are demanding that Muslims apologize for the actions of others, or demand that all Muslims get out of Western countries, or some propose that we target people that happen to be familial to known terrorists but haven't actually done anything wrong, or some combination of these. That is where this letter comes from.

wut? Why would 'pretend' apology only 'apologize' for the great contributions to humanity?

Overall, I don't get why the religion of xyz person gets the credit or the blame. I think a person can be inspired by their faith and give thanks to their faith, but it's the person who does or doesn't do something. And many times many people are not even really religious at all, they just happen to be born in a certain place and go along with what their parents tell them.

Must be awful coming to the forums and not having the priviledge of reading and posting in the PL, where all the fun is at.

Must be awful that you're permabanned from the PL.

They don't in all cases. Is the religious affiliation of the financiers most culpable for the banking crisis ever mentioned in serious news coverage? Is the religion of the soldiers found to be torturing and desecrating prisoners in the middle east in the last decade brought up? For all the coverage about Zimmerman, including all the race stuff, I don't remember his religion being used as a reason why he acted in the way he did.

However, when a group makes video after video proclaiming that they are motivated by their religion. When the terrorists repeatedly tell us that it is for the glory of Allah, and when they proclaim glory to Allah at every opportunity, even mid-rampage, it is not unreasonable to take them at their words and accept that however much we may disagree with their ideology, they are indeed religiously motivated.

(Personally I don't want an apology, I want muslims to have an internal revolution agains the violence and barbarism of the extremist sects. They have the most powerful tools to neuter these loons and strip them of power and influence.)

It certainly pains me that I'm missing out on such revelry. But then I take a shit and flush it down the toilet, and that puts everything into perspective.

Until the western powers got rid of them, it was Muslim governments and Muslim soldiers in Libya and Syria who have been leading the fight against ISIS, and its predecessors, for the last 50 years with no help from the outside world - only finger-wagging and tut-tutting.

Western governments should be the ones apologizing to Muslims.

You people have no idea what you have just unleashed. In a year or two you will learn - on that day do not say Saif al-Islam did not warn you.

Of course not in all cases. Actually I'm just talking about 1 case specifically, the 'apology' in the OP
