Wanna talk smartphones?

Been having some in depth talks with family and friends that are all iphone whores  here's my spin:

finally....after years of struggling with stoopid Apple iphones and their proprietary BULLSH***.....I got a new phone (FREE!)....may sound silly, BUT....all my 20 years of business contacts (sales, vendors with codes and pricing), customers (with history and pricing), sales efforts, projects, recipes, personal shite, EVERYTHING....all in MS Outlook set up as contacts and OneNote (not to mention access, excel and word docs). Apple PURPOSEFULLY fooks up syncing with outlook as they dont want you using microsoft products. They TOLD me this over the phone (took 12 hours of frustrating bitching to get it out of them over the years)......whenever I'd accidentally charge my phone via a computer that had itunes on it and it would sync, my entire database would get freaking scrambled. Thankfully after the FIRST time I had to rebuild it I learned to back it up in the cloud so I could just reinstall, but still, what a pain! And their music is proprietary....ringtones......whatever. If you don't go all apple (mac, ipad, iphone) then they are useless to real people that need a business or complex personal solution.

SO.....my computers, my tablet, and now my fancy HTC One M8 phone are all windows 8.....got the new phone, entered a few passwords and some info, plugged it in and POOF!!! Sucked up all my computer, tablet and cloud info and its golden!!! So freaking easy....so seamless.....and it it just another folder on the harddrive when plugged in.....I dont understand why these arent more popular.....I freaking LOVE IT!! AND it has the metal case, gorilla glass, waterproof, the best built in speakers and an awesome camera.....

K....I shut TF up now

I want a cell phone with a mechanical rotary dial. I'm not even joking.

Anyone who wants a rotary dial phone never tried to be the 23rd caller to win two tickets to a Cars concert.

Apple has one hell of a design department - they're stuff is always beautiful. My wife has an iPhone from work, and my kids have iPods, but I will never buy any of their products for myself. Anytime I have to help them with a problem, I find the experience to be annoying, frustrating, and counter-intuitive. Much of the time, the answer is simply "Apple won't let you do that", like when my wife wanted a better keyboard app like the one I have on my droid phone. Then there's the exorbitant prices they charge for the devices, and how they nickel and dime you to death with every app. No thanks, Apple.

I hate using email in my iphone, and i hate outlook. I hate windows 8. I hate clouds and tablets. I'm not kidding you lol!!

But I'm happy that you got everything sync'd now. When you're depending on shit for a business, you better have all that shit coming from the same ahole.

I've never had a smart phone. I still have a flip phone. Reason being, work provides my phone, and pays for the phone. I haven't had to pay for a phone in 6.5 years. So, I take what they give me, and try to keep my complaints to a minimum.

Bollocks.

:-s WT...what??

Thread from over 3 years ago. Since I'm here....sadly, MS totally dropped the ball on their phone side. Went with android as Google is their thang and that luckily syncs seamlessly with MS products.

Still giving all 66% of my right middle finger to Apple. Buncha dipstix! Lol
