I just bought my first mod. eLeaf iStick20watt mod with a Kanger Subtank 7.0 ml.

I don't know if anyone is into this vaping thing yet, but I think this is the future for people that liked to smoke.

My first eJuice experience was some RedE Juice Chocolate Caramel Cake...who needs dessert anymore!

I was wondering when someone was going to make a thread about this subject! I have a Kanger subtank, nano and an atlantis aspire I use a Sigelei 100 watt box mod. but I have some bad news for you. throw all that out now and get yourself a new Juul by Pax Labs the same folks who make the Pax loose leaf vaporizer. this is the closest thing to a cigarette I have ever tried! it might even be better than a cig if you ask me. Science baby. ..they took the organic acids out of leaf tobacco to make their juice. it's the most satisfying vapor I have experienced yet! the tobacco juice has got to be the closest thing ever to the real thing. when you open the juice pod it even smells like a fresh open pack of cigarettes ! it's the greatest thing ever. ...I'm puffing on one right now!

http://www.juulvapor.com

oh and one more thing. .that 20 watt box mod you have isn't enough to power the subtank to its full potential. unless you use the 1.2 ohm coil not the .5 ohm. it's rated for iirc 15 to 30 watts on the .5 ohm coil. while you will be able to use it you won't be able to power it up past 20....I consistently hit mine @ 25 to 35 watts with the .5 ohm coil. it will take the higher wattage....

And there will be no cloud chasing with any of these setups !

can't hang that box mod out of your mouth... I see you work with your hands like myself. Was a problem for me. Not with the Juul. I could go on way too long about this

I will take a look at your recommendation. However, in regards to the coil...the Kanger Subtank came with a 1.2...so I just switched it out. It hits good.

Word of advice on this starter mod, if you pair your iStick with a Kanger SubtankPlus, DO NOT over tighten it! If you do, you will short out the atomizer! That's the only gripe I have with this mod so far. I had other people tell me I couldn't use the Kanger on the iStick 20; but then someone told me that it comes with an extra coil and to just change them out. I followed their advice and it worked (once I took the atomizer off and reapplied it with out overtightening).

Also, some advice I just received tonight on http://vapers.tv/:

1. Do not keep your mod in your car.
2. Do not keep your batteries in your pocket with Keys and Change
3. Do not use a 2 amp charger...use a 1 Amp or less

if you do not follow these rules...you may end up with a BOMB!

Battery safety...very very important!

Yay, a vaping thread! I've been cigarette free since January 2014 after purchasing an Innokin MVP2... Current vape is a Sigelei 150 + Mutation X v4 or Dark Horse RDA at home and an IPV Mini 2 + Herakles sub-ohm tank for out and about. Will post more later. The Blackhawks are one period away from winning the Stanley Cup!!!

Hi RiskTycoon! :)

you can use it yes. it does come with both coils.... I guess to me it seems odd to buy a sub ohm capable tank but limit yourself with your mod when for not much more $ you could have powered both coils. that's all... not saying you can't or you made a bad choice in gear.

For starting out, I figured this was cheaper mod. And if I go up in wattage, I can just use the subtank on those. I bought an extra subtank that is still in the box. I literally just started vaping today.

Hi RiskTycoon! :)

Holy Shmokes! hey there, casper. Long time no see!

Nice setups! I pretty much have been using this Juul since it came out on June 1st and I gotta say is satisfying...The vapor isn't that of sub ohm of course but the satisfaction is uncanny. Building your own coils eh? I gave up, now I'm lazy. ..

Is 'vaping' another way of saying 'smoking shisha'?

Yes and no.
They have shisha based vape products but essentially vaporizing is a different way of applying heat to a substance to inhale.
At certain temps certain compounds will vaporize(essentially going solid to gas instantly) this has several benefits the most talked about is the decrease of tar/carcinogens that are created and thusly inhaled.
It can change the flavor/decrease the lingering smell/purify specific components and you can "customize" your vape with different setups as these gents are discussing.
Im off the tobacco substitute but i have the an "o" pen,a "g" pen, and a silver surfer.
A friend of mine had cystic fibrosis and only used a volcano for his entire adult life. An excellent product if you have the dough and want to vape more socially like with shisha.

I just want to clarify that "smoking" is not "vaping". If you would like more info on the process and a little history about vaping, try this:

I'm not that bothered, lol.

Shisha is fairly common in bars here though. There's a place called 'Vape' which just opened near me, but I have no idea what it is yet. I'd assumed it was a shisha bar, but maybe it's something to do with 'vapiing' instead'

Probably, since vaping was developed in China. My guess it is a Vaping bar. I don't know what China allows its citizens to vape. The big business in marijuana is to extract the THC oil out of the plant and use in a vapor. It gets you high and you can't smell it, so police aren't exactly keen on vaping.

I believe the cigarette companies and the pharmaceutical companies are against vaping, because they were not the ones to develop the vape mod or the ecig. I believe vaping in the future will actually enhance your health instead of diminish it.

That is pretty cool looking mod.

There's a juice that is supposed to taste just like Monster. I am looking forward to buying that one for sure. I'm just playing around right now, beings that I am new to the vape scene.

I am watching a guy recoil his atomizer right now. Neat to watch the technical side to it. Lots of stuff to learn before you start vaping, and a lot of jargon. I am sure some people get annoyed by me in chat, because I am always asking what this is or what that is and how do I do this or that.

I still don't understand why you would want to vape anything higher that 50 watts?

this is the tank I am using on my dinky little iStick20:

short answer is because you can.... I my eyes unless you are chasing clouds then there really is no need. The science behind it is fun much like other technical hobbies. ie a coral reef aquarium or something similar. you get into it...

Higher than 50 watts = more vapor and more flavor! I'm not a maniac cloud chaser but I do like blowing big clouds..

I haven't used the Kanger Subtank but subohm tanks are meant for higher wattages. I have a Herakles tank with a 0.2 ohm coil and usually run it between 50-60 watts. My wife has an iStick 20 watt and uses an Aspire Nautilus Mini and 1.8 ohm coils with it... a great combo for her. I would recommend trying the Subtank out on a 40 or 50 watt mod though.. maybe at your local shop?

Have you been to https://www.reddit.com/r/electronic_cigarette/ ? That's where I got started.

Lol. Yep! Although I recently cheated and bought pre-made Clapton wire...amazing!! Maybe you need some Kuro Coilers? :D

What are your favorite juices? Lately it's been all Lenola Cream for me.... Delicious!

*edit* Never heard of the Juul.... looks interesting.

I am trying to rewick this prebuilt 1.2 ohm and I keep getting dry hits. I am not impressed with this KangerSubtank Leaky Motherfuckin Plus!

I've rewicked this thing about five times tonight, I finally thought I had it rewicked properly...it worked for about five hits or so, and then BAM! Another sickening dry hit!

I am gonna look for a different mod and tank then this build I think. I don't like putting up with this.

Hi. Why are you rewicking a premade coil? Premade coils are meant to be used and tossed (or soak overnight in vodka/alcohol and try to reuse). Doesn't the Subtank Plus have an RBA deck to build your own coil and rewick more easily?

I enjoy torture.

Also, I think I mentioned that I am new to vaping in earlier posts. I have never used an RBA and didn't know that the prebuilt OCC's should just be changed out (also, so soon of me buying these tanks? I've only had them a couple weeks). I do not have extra. I have a OCC 0.5 and a RBA mini. I am using an iStick20 and do not know if it can be used with those coils.

However, I have just ordered a iStick50 with an Aspire Atlantis with a pack of 0.3 replacables. My beef with Kanger is that it likes to leak and I get a lot of gurgling in the pipe. I found out that this is because Kanger doesn't line the pipe up center with your coil head, and the force of one side hitting the other harder causes small amounts of fluid to leak into the chamber.

If I like this Atlantis, I will probably just keep my Kangers around just for back up.

Right now, I am prime puffing the piss out of my tank before I vape, and I make sure that I only vape for a couple seconds at a time. Anymore than that risks a horrible dry hit.

Haha torture. :) Ah yes, I forgot you were new to this. Prebuilt coils are designed not to be easily rewicked and last about a week or so in my experience. You're paying for the convenience of not having to build your own coils. You can try to get more life out of them by soaking them in vodka or alcohol (and letting them dry) as I mentioned before. Darker colored juices will gunk up the coils faster. I first started rebuilding a few months after I started vaping mainly to avoid the expense of premade coils.

I haven't used a Kanger product since the Mini Protank 3 so can't really comment on the leaking or dry hits. reddit ECR is probably your best bet for help with that specific issue. Hope you like the Atlantis (2?) and the iStick.
