As much as I despise the laxity of etiquette for the customary social graces, the obesity epidemic is definitely the worst feature. Being obese in public is rude.

In order to combat this epidemic, we should simply increase our standards for obesity, and then the problem will be gone overnight.

This map is actually a pretty good argument against universal healthcare in the US. Imagine how much paying for all that heart disease would cost.

How do so many people get fat that fucking quickly? Do they not have a part of their brain telling them things like 'three burgers is an excessive lunch for someone who works in an office'?

Watching television provides a clue. Right after a commercial telling you how much of a demon smoking is, there is a McDonalds commercial. One is a socially unacceptable vice and one is socially acceptable. IMHO, Ronald McDonald has done more damage to public health than Joe Camel could even if he tried.
That would be a good celebrity death match or epic rap battle.

I suppose you could influence penalties on health coverage dues based on people who were not meeting requirements for maintaining some standard of controllable fitness (and I think in the past this has been implemented to some extent or another) but you would have to have it clearly defined on the legal level of what those standards are not to mention potential ethical complications.

What right does the government have to force upon you its own form of health care and then demand that you live in such a way as to suit its financial needs?

WAKE UP PEOPLE. This is the fault of the multinational food conglomerates. It is the stuff they are putting in our food, and the growth hormones they are feeding the animals.
We are an experiment of the corporations. We get fatter, die younger, birth rates increase, more money for the conglomerates to suck out of us due to the higher turnover. Also, the crap they are putting in the food gets cheaper and cheaper which also relates to more money for them and poorer health for the general populace.

Don't remember off the top of my head. But jay and xtratabasco were big conspiracy nuts too. Jay I think simply left, while xtra was originally banned for posting increasingly racist comments. And a few years later was unbanned, and was still posting conspiracy stuff.
