------What one does, Is them alone..No symbol or words can be used as a reason. Let's say companies are moving in to capitalize on a horrid event. Do you really think Apple cares..Guess what ,if there were no I-phones...or Facebook. This tragedy might not have happened. So maybe Apple is to blame. Now everyone wants to look like they care. To promote their stores etc..their political goals.
------As for rebels...Washington,Franklin,Adams..were rebels. All Americans are rebels....How many people who now want The Confederate Flag taken down. Realize, people are crazy. This will not solve anything. Humans will hate on each other. As soon as you get rid of one reason. They will just find another. Before 1861..The Stars and Stripes represented slavery/genocide(still does). New technology is making bulling and racism more powerful. Then ever before.

FYI, the only reason the Nazis' back-to-font swastika is primarily associated with Nazism in the West is because very few Westerners are aware/familiar with the swastika as a Buddhist/Hindu religious symbol. In the East, the swastika continues to be used as a religious symbol.

------As for Those who don't see what The Confederate Flag really meant. Not used for hatred. It represented a time of AMERICA'S CAMELOT(not the kennedys)(Outside of slavery). AMERICA'S LAST AGE OF HONOR AND GLORY(Chivalry)..in a strange way. THAT IS WHAT THE MOVIE "GONE WITH THE WIND",is all about,not slavery. Although most Americans are idiots. Most don't know their own country's history or can find America on a map/globe. GONE WITH THE WIND, a movie which gave us our first African American Oscar Winner...Hattie Mcdaniel..(Mammy). It was America's Greatest and Darkest Hour. Should be remembered ,not forgotten and tossed under the rug. Just because there are people that try and force their views on the rest of us. Whether they be,racists,The Government, or goodie good doers,who think now we have to do things their way. For our own good. ConfederateSS.out!(The Blue and Silver Rebellion)....Today's movies..don't have a plot..They are filled with sex,explosions. Because Americans have a short attention span and can't follow a plot. Movie actors today don't have an ounce of talent the the old actors had. Movies are all computerized,there is no human touch to them.

It is important to understand that history is irrelevant. The people who abused that particular flag the most are the ones who are calling for its removal (the fact that some were using is as recently as their previous campaigns for president is ironic but also irrelevant as they don't care about history, but about the myths they have created for the people).

But if we were to be honest about the flag, the problem should not be "Gone with the Wind" but "Birth of a Nation." This movie, by the way, was given a private screening after it was released by one of the most bigoted presidents ever to sit in the White House (of course, being a Democrat, you won't learn that in school, because he is "beloved" or something like that). After the war, especially with the constitutional amendment to allow the former slaves to vote, the South turned Republican. Frustrated Democrats who wanted to put the genie back in the bottle (and then whip the bottle a few times for good measure) created the terrorist organization known as the KKK. It was that terrorist organization that adopted the rebel flag. (It also used the American flag often ... yes people are starting to suggest we should get rid of the Stars and Stripes as well.)

Of course, those who oppose the flag don't want to point this out because the connections between the KKK and the Democratic Party are so vast that it's impossible to cover them all up. Senator Robert Byrd was an active member of the clan while he was a senator! You can't bring up the historical records to condemn the KKK without bringing up these links at the same time.

Ironically it was not the KKK that restored the Democratic party, but the re-enslavement by the progressive policies of the "New Deal" and the "New Society" (the "New Enslavement ... only instead of to people to the government welfare state) that restored the Democratic party. This lasted for a while, and now having secured the base they need to expand it by bringing poor immigrants to depend on the party (this was not new, this was the policy of the northern Democrats since Tammity Hall).

Love to have you clarify that statement, perhaps with facts as opposed to your opinion. All the literature I have read states a condensed history similar to this:

Ah, you make it sound as if everyone back then and today all have the exact same thoughts. Well, even back then, when the Declaration was still being written, the issue of slavery was hotly contested. The Northern states only allowed the South at the time to keep them because they needed the help from the Southern states who were to stubborn to give up their "right" to own people. It remained a hotly contested issue for decades and finally erupted when the Southern states not only seceded from the Union, but fired upon Fort Sumter, sparking the Civil War. So while some were perfectly happy to keep slavery, many others were vehemently opposed to it from the start.

Expanding West? I won't deny that some pretty nasty things happened, many of which came from the US government. Genocide? No, not intentionally. Unfortunately for the various native tribes, they had not developed the same kind of immune system that the people of Europe had, making them much more susceptible to diseases that many people of European descent had become immune to over the centuries. So things that those of European descent would normally not even think about ended up hurting the Native Americans badly. The samething happened in Mexico and Central and South America. The people there simply did not have the immunities that the settlers had, which unintentionally wiped out a very large number of them.

as Franklin noted 'Independence without unanimity means nothing. We shall all hang together, or most assuredly we will all hang separately' and as John Adams followed 'All 13 clocks must strike at the same time'



South Carolina was on the record to 'NEVER VOTE FOR INDEPENDENCE....EVER!!!' in the end, along with the rest of the South, they did realize they had to unite with Massachusetts and the Yankees that supported them. The clans needed to unite for a higher cause, to go for all or nothing.



New York was scared because they knew they'd likely get destroyed completely, but NY did not vote against Independence either.
