Modern Louisiana is only a minute fragment of the original definition of Louisiana... which was defined as the entire Mississippi watershed and included some 1.2 million square miles or about 40% of the land area of the contiguous states.

La Salle also established a fort at what is now Victoria, Texas, and considered everything from there to the Mississippi to be part of Louisiana also. This claim, if enforced, would have meant that about 50% of Texas' Gulf coast was also French. I don't think it was ever enforced. Colonies in the Americas were always a low-priority item for French kings, and just like with the earlier colonies in South Carolina and Florida, La Salle's fort in Texas was not supported by France and was soon back in Spanish hands.

How much would you pay to get Louisiana back? What if they only offered part of it, for instance, just xeno?

Not so fast. The US Army is going on maneuvers there to ensure it remains in American hands, and to start forcibly removing guns from the habitants.

Resistance is futile.

Only Steers and Baguettes come from Texas, and you don't look like a Royale to me.

I heard the French gave up Louisiana because they couldn't handle the mosquitoes.

They gave up Louisiana because they LOST THE WAR.

A Corsican sold French lands to the US government. Think about that one for awhile.

Imagine if France defeated England on the Plains of Abraham. I expect Louisiana and the Mississippi basin would all still be French. The US would simply be the Atlantic coastal states, and a GINORMOUS QUEBEC would dominate you.

Macedonia is Vermont's closest ally. If New York tried to recapture Vermont, Macedonia might send aid to Vermont.*

Vermont is not allies with France. Sucks to be France!

In 1763, the population of Quebec was 70,000. The 13 colonies were already closing in on 3 million. Canada struggles to be taken seriously nowadays, with a population disparity of 10 to 1 in favour of the Americans. Can you imagine what it was like when the population disparity was 40 to 1?

The Americans would have completely disregarded the border and spilled over anyway and then seized control, as they ignored British sovereignty in Florida, as they ignored French sovereignty in Louisiana, as they ignored Spanish sovereignty in Texas, as they ignored the rights of all the native nations.

Obviously the Champlain Canal is out, but Lake Champlain does connect up north through a tributary to the St. Lawrence River. Obviously Canada is going to side with Vermont and allow passage of the Macedonian ships, so they'd have a chance.

Now, getting to the Adriatic... that's the interesting part.
