I'm tired of getting into arguments about when to use effect and when to use affect.
From here on in, I propose that we replace both with a single case-neutral, gender-neutral, syntax-neutral, tense-neutral, transmission-neutral word uhfect. In any instance where you want to use effect but it might be affect, you can insert uhfect and be done with it.

Why would you ever get into an argument about it? There's a right way and a wrong way. An argument about it is literally meaningless.

You can bury your head in the sand, but this argument destroys careers, ends marriages, begins wars, and may in fact lead to the release of methane into the atmosphere. There will come a time when this will be known as the Day We Restored Peace.

They should just take all the words and replace them with either 'mrs' or 'wdk', like in The Dictator.

I am, effectively, unaffected by your argument.

I agree on the condition that a pause be placed between the syllables.
Example: Did you know that cigarettes uhh... fect your lungs?

I never get into arguments, I just go directly to insults.
Here, use this instead ... links are better than arguments.

I found this interesting from reading this AOG post.
-ist
a suffix of nouns, often corresponding to verbs ending in -ize or nouns ending in -ism, that denote a person who practices or is concerned with something, or holds certain principles, doctrines, etc."
-ic
a suffix forming adjectives from other parts of speech, occurring originally in Greek and Latin loanwords where such words were originally adjectival ( critic; magic; music; metallic; poetic; archaic; public) and, on this model, used as an adjective-forming suffix with the particular senses “having some characteristics of” (opposed to the simple attributive use of the base noun) (balletic; sophomoric)
The more you know.

Who'd have thought that a thread called 'uhfect' would be one the more educational threads on this forum...
